A great overlap of analogue and digital. And a great product.
So this is the second reusable Rocketbook I have bought. The first is a few months old and still going strong but I use it so much I often go into a second book during the day. Whilst the wiping of the pages is another chore to add to the day, it is oddly therapeutic. When cleaning the pages, have a second cloth nearby to dry them so they don't stick. The paper is shiny - I thought that would be a problem when I first wrote on it, but by the end of the first sentence I was rather used to it. There is a good selection of Frixion pens - the felt-tip ones write best on the inside cover (where you put your index), but the pen that comes with it is just fine for writing. It also, of course, works well on normal paper. The scanning app that comes with it works flawlessly for me. It is rather wonderful having the junction of analogue and digital in being able to write on 'paper' and then so easily digitise it. I thoroughly recommend this product.

Simple, reliable, perfect. Why spend £300 on an e-ink thing?
It's a simple product done really well. Yes, you need the right pens, but they're not expensive and they're made by the guys you probably got your preferred biros from anyway. The app just works. Overall this makes all the e-ink tablets look ridiculous. Which they are, on every single level. Even yours, Amazon.

A great product.
I'm always jotting things down, working through a computer algorithm on paper or writing some notes or some graphic designs, information I'm receiving during a telephone conversation and so on. For me that all works best on a traditional pen and pad. But the trouble with traditional notepads is they get messy very quickly after corrections, plus you might want more than one for different purposes. I find an A5 pad the right kinda size, not too big or small but there are A4 and A6 versions too. Now it's arrived and it works well, it's a bit over priced. But I use notepads all the time so it's something that I will get use out of. The pen flows nicely and it's just like writing on traditional paper (smooth paper not fibrous). Apparently 10 to 15 seconds for it to bond with the special paper then it will not smudge at all even after some vigorous rubbing (I tried). When you're home you could tidy up your corrections or erase pages completely, which is very easy with the supplied cloth (dampened). No residue what-so ever is left so it's like a new pad once again. You have 36 pages to use so you could keep some things permanently in the notepad. It comes with a black pen, but other colours are available. I downloaded the RocketBook app to my phone, set my email address because I want my notes sent via email (you can also use various cloud services like DropBox). You click the camera phone icon on the app and it recognises the page (and nothing else, not even the notepad ring binder or a background). It shows you what will be scanned by over-laying a green section on the page, processes and sends to the place of choice in PDF Format. You put a cross through one of the icons at the bottom of the page to idicate where you want the file sent. The scans are very good (unless in poor light I guess, but you can scan later in better light) with very smooth curves as used in handwriting and drawing (4K on my phone). The software has OCR and search facilities, although probably best to print key words unless your handwriting is very neat. As well as key words I use the heading feature so you don't have to type in a filename, just scan and the PDF gets sent automatically. You simply write some hashtags around the filename you require, so write on the notepad ## FILENAME ## So basically you can use it as a traditional notepad that never runs out, that can be edited, wiped and over-written without something like Tippex for a standard paper notepad which you can't really write over, or the Tippex tape-like solution that puts a white film across edits. Or you can very quickly get ideas, notes and drawings down, tidy up and then send as a PDF to view on phone tablet or computer as more of an organized work flow.

A truly innovative and great product!
I read reviews beforehand and still didn't expect something this amazing. Writing in the notebook feels so good, it's even better in a way than some real paper and pen combinations. I got the executive size A5 and although it felt initially a bit small, it turns out it actually is the perfect size for my needs. Which include taking notes on the go, when reading a book, browsing a website or watching a documentary. The thought that I can digitize everything so easily makes me grin with joy. This is truly an innovative product and I wish I knew about it sooner. It's amazing. Still haven't tried the mobile app but I expect quality there as well. If I don't update this part, then you can be sure my expectations were met.

Mostly redundant but perfect in some ways
Since 2021 I've had endless phone calls with one of the utility companies about a fault that they have in their system, which continues to affect my house, although they are trying hard to fix it. And then there were other things: goods from unrelated companies that didn't arrive because of delivery issues, and so on. I knew that - particularly with the utility company - I had to keep a record of these things. I had a book - I called it the Meldrew index - in which I noted key points in every conversation. But a book isn't much good - you have to send messages to yourself e.g."cont. on p.27". I needed a loose-leaf folder. That would have worked. Did I think of that? No. I dreamed of something like an iPad that I could write on during a call, and keep. But the cost! So I got a rocketbook. The idea is, you take a picture of your notes to send to your laptop. Yes I know- you can do that anyway, you don't need this darn thing - and your writing turns into a scrawl on it. The only plus is psychological: I never forget to have the rocketbook with me when I'm calling suppliers of any kind. This is because it cost real money. Is it worth it? Well, I don't think so; I think a looseleaf folder would be better.

Great way to save paper
During lockdown I was using a digital notebook when working from home, but I wanted something better than paper when I returned to the office. Having read some reviews, I decided to give Rocketbook a go. Admittedly, it takes a little getting used to. The pages are effectively a glossy plastic and you need to hold the pen at just the right angle in order to get good ink flow. The ink dries reasonably quickly, but nowhere near quickly enough if you are left handed. I suspect this will cause issues with smearing and getting ink all over your hands. Another thing to watch out for is if you are holding the notebook with warm hands. I once erased all of my speaker notes during a presentation. That said, I love this notebook. I have deliberately held off reviewing it to see if it withstands the test of time and it is now almost at 12 months old and going strong - having been overwritten virtually every week. Very easy to erase, both with the eraser (for minor errors) or the microfibre cloth. Each week I upload my notes to my iPad with minimal effort. I’m fact, the app offers a lot more functionality than I currently make use of. If anything happens to this notebook, I will not hesitate to buy another.

Good Product, was a bit damaged though.
The product looks good, its a gift for my housemate, so I can't speak too much to the functionality just yet. However, there are creases/damage to the first 2-3 pages of this notebook. It will still function, but it's dissapointing to have the pages not crisp and clean straight out a the packet. If it was for me, I might have returned it, my housemate cannot be bothered though. I'm sure this isn't typical, would still recommend this product, just hope yours arrives in better condition.

Surprised
I thought this was a bit of a gimmick before actually using it and making proper use of it! The way it connects to apps is genius! I highly recommend this product! Next step is integrating AI into the app!

No need for any other notebooks
Have to be honest and say I don't read back old notebooks. But writing down things help in my memory. So in the past, I bought and used tons of notebooks and they stack up in my cardboard, and the Marie-Kondo in me is begging me to clear them but memories ✨ Rocketbook changes everything, a snapshot and that memory is forever, clean slate, save space, its the best!!!
