Worked great- with an added extra.
I use these and am very satisfied with them. There are some tricks I have figured out and since I've benefitted in the past from other well-written reviews I decided to "give back" and help some folks use these successfully. I tried the 'Mute' ones, which are more translucent "clear" and also a bit more soft or 'flimsy', and I didn't like them as well. So the yellow "Turbine" ones are it for me. My dentist recommended this device to me. I sleep on my back and my mouth drops open, tongue falls back blocking my airway, which causes snoring and, more seriously, long periods of sleep apnea. I tried a cpap machine but didn't like it at all. The relief it gave was outweighed by the discomfort and "too much-ness" of the entire bunch of equipment I had to wear every night. I tried these little things and took time to work out how to get the most from them. It's worth taking some time with them--they took a bit of fiddling to get the fit correct. (The video they have now is very much more clear than when I first found these things). The other thing I do is that I use paper "wound care" tape across my mouth to keep it from falling open. I apply lip balm, sort of 'roll' my lips together and apply the tape, then relax my lips. The tape stays on just fine and when I take it off in the morning it doesn't pull the sensitive skin on my lips. Some people apply the tape vertically, some horizontally. You have to try it a few times to get the right method for yourself. And use the paper tape that's made for changing dressings often. It has the least amount of adhesive. I had to get past the weirdness of having my mouth taped shut but that wasn't too bad. And it's not like I can't just open my mouth if needed. (It's not like I'm duct taping my whole mouth shut!!! ) It just keeps the mouth closed and the tongue from falling backward the way it does if my mouth falls open in sleep, and it makes sure I'm breathing through my nose. I live in a kind of dry climate, at about 2100 ft. altitude, so I always run a humidifier while sleeping. I try to keep the humidity around 40-45% and that helps a lot. (Side-note, some folks have mentioned scabs and bleeding...I've never had that from these devices, but as I said, I live in a high, dry climate and used to get nosebleeds. I have learned that I get fewer nosebleeds when I'm well hydrated by drinking plenty of water *and* running the humidifier) I really recommend that you try these two things together--the tape WITH the nasal dilators has made ALL the difference and I no longer use the cpap machine. A note on care of these devices; I take the little things out every morning and clean them right away, before I brush my teeth. Don't just put it on your nightstand...I've lost about 4 of them this way! I forget about them, then they get knocked off somehow and they're hard to see... I think they just got vacuumed up. The yellow ones are easier to see if you drop them, too! To clean it, I use a very soft toothbrush (like the kind you get after having oral surgery). I wet both the device and the toothbrush, drag the wet brush across a bar of unscented soap, and scrub the entire device gently. Then I rinse it well and set it on a special tiny dish I keep on the bathroom counter for this purpose. Then at night, it's always right there, clean, dry and ready to use. Sometimes I soak it in Hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes after washing but it never foams up like it would if there were lots of bacteria left on it. I have used these for WAY longer than the recommended 10 days. They're silicone! They're quite durable and can last a good while. Good luck!

Helps me sleep, good product, could be a bit softer
I used this product for sleep, but do sometimes wear it in the day for activity or just to enjoy breathing. I have some unfortunately-shaped nostrils that contribute to snoring and sleep apnea. This product has helped with that in a valuable way. Breathing - It opens up your nose by basically creating a firm "ring" of plastic that supports your nostril from the inside. It opens your airways and makes it easier to breathe through your nose. I've been able to stop breathing through my mouth as much because of these, and my sleep is improved when I use them. Sizing - I used the medium size. There is an adjustment on the "arms," but I found that these just collapsed or clicked shut in the process of putting them in my nose, so I eventually just got used to using them fully "collapsed." I would recommend the company just try to make more options for firm sizes instead of using this adjustment system. Comfort - The top of the hoop inside the nostril has a softer material (silicone/rubber of some kind) on the "wings" that stick up against the top of your nose. I feel like these (and the whole unit) could maybe be a little softer. After an adjustment period, I tolerate the device pretty well. But after a full night of use, your nose can feel a little "raw" - especially if you move it around or adjust it much. Grossness - Sorry to be gross, but basically an FYI - if you're exerting yourself and have allergies like I do, you may find some snot collecting at the area at the base of the nose where the connecting arm sits. Having the item in can make it hard to wipe that away without also irritating your nose. This isn't a huge downside, but it can bug you if you're spending a lot of time with these in and have that issue. Just keep an eye out for it, and be prepared to remove it once in awhile to clean things up. Suggestion - I wouldn't mind some of these in skin tone colors. I'm not really going for that punk rock look, so having a more "discreet" color option than bright yellow would be nice. Overall, the issues I've mentioned are minor in comparison to how much these have helped me with my breathing. I'm grateful for them, and I hope the company will continue to iterate on their design.

Comfortable, easy way to nasal breathe
I got this and the mute and I have to say I like the turbine better. The mute has these little ridges on the outside of the loop where the ratchet is, and after a week of wearing them, the ridges irritated my nose. The turbine does not have those ridges on them, but rather smooth plastic all around. I don’t have sleep apnea and I don’t snore, but I do have chronic obstructive airways and as soon as I put this in, I can breathe way better. My SP02 on my Apple Watch used to be around 88-89 at night (I know, not good) at its lowest, but with wearing this at night it’s 92 - 93 (progress!). I think you can get away with more than 10 uses too if you’re careful and wash it after every use. I wondered if maybe I could wear them during the day just to help open my nose up more, but they do fall out while you’re eating and they’re not comfortable to wear while putting on lotion or brushing your teeth. When you wear these, think about you’re not really touching your face or doing anything that involves moving your face. I’ve worn them to the gym to lift weights, and that felt comfortable, but I think doing some thing like jumping rope could be irritating to the nose. The color is like a school bus yellow color. I wish they would make it more of like a gold or silver jewelry color, kind of like the loop earplugs, so that it looks like jewelry at a quick glance. The yellow stands out too much so you might as well just roll with it to make it look like jewelry.

stays in place, does the job, probably not the best option for sleeping
I purchased the three-pack of assorted sizes. The the product arrived, I decided to try the Medium size first. It was tricky inserting the two sides into my nostrils, but once in place I could tell it really increased airflow. I decided to sleep with the product I my nose, to see how it compared to the same brand nasal strips I've used for years. The product seemed to work much better than the strips, and didn't seem too uncomfortable, at first. A few hours into the night, I noticed my nose was hurting a little, even though I was sleeping on my back, so pressure wouldn't be on my nose. When I woke in the morning, my nose was a little sore, and it was a little hard to remove the product without causing discomfort. The following night I went back to nasal strips, but after that I decided to try the Small size Turbine. The Small inserted a little easier, and seemed to work as well as the medium sized version. It was a little uncomfortable, but not too bad. I slept through the night, and when I woke up, my nose was irritated from the device. I continued to use the Small one for a few nights, and when I woke up this morning, I noticed there was a little blood on the device, and it really hurt removing it. It apparently caused an injury to the inside of my nostrils, with a tiny amount of blood being visible on both sides. I really like how much the product increases airflow, but I won't be using these again any time soon.I'm going to be checking out similar products, to see if there is one more suitable for sleeping. I do think I'll use these while riding my bike, since that's usually limited to an hour or two. I've just found these aren't comfortable for sleep, and may cause small lacerations or abrasions in the nose.

I can breathe!
I have been using nasal strips at night to breathe for several years due to being born with ridiculously small nasal passages. Nasal strips and taping my mouth closed helped with the occasional sleep apnea. But the skin on the bridge of my nose was suffering. I saw this product and it makes so much sense. But the reviews scared me. After watching their video on how to use it properly, I decided it was worth my attempt at trying. I didn’t bother with the multi size pack. I already know my passages are tiny. I ordered the package of 3 small devices and hoped for the best. These are adjustable. They come in the smallest position so I didn’t adjust them for my first try. I popped them in with no issues. They definitely open up the nasal passages. I slept in them all night the first night. They are very comfortable and I had no issues sleeping on my back or side with them. I could breathe all night. Took them out in morning, used a toothbrush (only to be used on the nose piece) with a little soap to clean it. I have now worn them for several nights and I’m very pleased with them. I can only imagine that the people complaining did not properly size their devices as my nares are so tiny, and yet the small is still comfortable despite opening my nares wide as designed. I appreciate these little devices and I’m sure I’ll be a repeat customer. My only complaint: I wish they came with a case to store them in between uses- like a tiny retainer case that has vent holes to dry out after washing them.

Worked with my deviated septum and running! Noticeable difference
First of all, anyone interested in trying this product out, purchase the assorted size to determine which dilator is the correct size for you. I knew my septum in my nose was deviated, but never thought that it had a major effect on my cardio. That was, until I decided to use the Breathe Right Nasal Strips casually at home. I realized how deep of breathes I could take nasally with only the external strips, but the adhesive kept coming off. I needed a more solid solution, that was not surgery. In my preparation for my first half-marathon about 1 month out, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try as my distances seemed to plateau. Every time I used the dilators, I really felt the difference. I was able to run the distances expected. I'm a bigger guy with a narrow nose bridge, and a noticeable deviated septum when observed up close. I especially noticed when I forgot the dilators on a 5K shortly after the half marathon. It was tough for a relatively flat 5K course. PROS: + I do reuse them. I wash them off after each use. I've been using the same Large pair for over a year now, but ordering an additional 3 pack after losing my Large dialator. + 100% worked for me, where nasal strips would slip off mid-jogs + Assorted size allowed me to learn that I should be using a Medium to Large. Testing out each in a run + A must have when performing any cardio. Although, I haven't needed while hiking yet. + They stay in place about almost 95% of the time. The other 5% of the time, is usually when i'm furrowing my nose. All I'd need to do to correct this, is to push the dilator back into place. It takes about 5 seconds max. + Cheaper alternative to surgery. As an active person, who only feels the effects of a deviated septum while doing cardio... this is great! CONS - Somewhat uncomfortable the first few times you use them. I've learned that I need to have them in my nose a few minutes before my cardio action to allow my nose to adjust to them. Usually my nose will become slightly congested because of me shoving it up my nose. After a while it clears up and I can take in full breathes completely through my nose. This doesn't lower my rating, because I would expect my nose to react like this with anything in my nose for a long period of time. Overall I would recommend these dilators to anyone that is looking at an inexpensive solution to improve cardio performance with a deviated septum.

Great product but causes nose sores.
Works so well but there is no way you’ll be able to use daily I have blisters in my nose from using this daily. I clean it and disinfect it daily as well. Just leaves raw sores in my nose everytime. Such a bummer. Wish I could get my money back.

What is your preference?
I've used these and the top of the line competitor - both have their uses. These are more forceful in opening your sinuses. I suffer from a few broken nose impacts and this one does help me breathe better than the other brand, but they are not as comfortable. I think this has to do with the material and design trade offs. It's either go with the more forceful push but less comfort (Rhinomed) or have less force opening your nasal passages but more comfort.

ecarteur nasal
