GREAT RAZOR @ A GREAT PRICE
This is my 2nd F5. The battery in the 1st finally gave up after 10yrs. What a difference in performance, both in the battery life & cutting operation! After 3 weeks of daily use, the battery still shows 80%! Compared to my old F5 with a recent new screen, cutter, & charger, which practically had to burn off my beard @ it's end of life, the new one cuts quickly, smoothly with no marks & doesn't require a razor blade cleanup. Follow the initial charge instructions & use suggestions, & you won't be disappointed! Don't be fooled by other high-end models.

Remington is the way to go!!
Best shaver or razor I ever owned, whether electric or disposable. This is the 2nd Remington I have had, I think my other was another in the F series as well. It shaves close and smooth without fear of nicks or cuts. Battery lasts a few weeks, even with using it every day, and doesnt take long to charge. Very easy to clean, Includes a handy brush. Comfortable grip. I have found a new favorite shaver brand. ❤️

Best ever!!!!
UpDate: Unfortunately it fell off of my bathroom counter and exploded the trimmer I understand they’re not supposed to be dropped per-se but I’ve got one that’s about 15+ years old that I dropped probably a dozen times so not very durable minus one and a half stars if I could but I can’t so I’ll leave at four because it does shave really well! Turns out the trimmer binds up on thicker hair also so like I say minus 1.5 stars for the trimmer!!!!! Last OK one was a braun, low end so didn't spend much but had for like 15 years! And still going but trimmer has failed but works if you hold it together.....This Remington, Shave as close as any blade, powerfull, good looks, Big, not a toy for 50 bucks in todays market/prices/inflation?!?!?!??? Very Very Nice!!! Brauns at 2/3 times this price with bad reviews so decided to go Remington and Soooooooo glad I did!!! Just buy it and you can thank me later, Lol......

Best foil shaver I've ever had.
Ever since a traffic accident left me rather gun-shy about using razor blades on my face, I've been an electric shaver user. I still have my old Norelco (the thing is almost 40 years old!) and would probably still be using that but they don't make replacement heads for it anymore. So I transitioned to the foil shavers and found them to be mediocre, but useful enough to keep the undergrowth trimmed back until the gardeners could come in once a week and do a proper job (AKA using a razor only once a week instead of every day). And for a couple of decades, this was my usual routine. The foil shavers never lasted more than a year or two before the foil heads wore through and often times, finding replacement heads was impossible. I have a drawer of perfectly good, if worn, foil shavers hoping one day I'll be able to find a screen or cutter for them. And because of their lack of longevity, I've rarely spent very much on them (which, admittedly, might have something to do with why they're not lasting very long). So when my last foil shaver wore through (always an exciting feeling to have one's skin abraded away in an instant and foofing the cat's tail by suddenly howling in pain), and I couldn't find any replacement screens or cutters for it, I was getting annoyed and decided to go a bit higher end. Most of the shavers I got before were in the 15-20 dollar range. I figured I'd go about double and see if there was something worthy of abrading my face in the (hopefully more distant than usual) future. (Note: I got this under Amazon Prime at the time at a lower price than it's listed now and would likely not have spent the money to get it at the price showing for it as of January 27, 2015) Thus far, I've found it to be a pretty good shaver. It has most of the cutting power of a razor without the drawbacks of a conventional foil shaver. Most foil shavers I've used leave a few hairs uncut which, after a few days, get too long to ever cut with a foil head. That's why I occasionally used a blade - to get the last hairs standing. But this shaver has a little lawn trimmer built into the head between the foils that trims down these standers to a level where the foil head can handle. This means, for a foil head, it's the best shave I've ever had. Blades will get closer, but not by a lot. And I haven't had to USE a blade since I got it. Bonus. So for allowing me to put away the twin blades of death, this little (or not so little) shaver has earned my respect as a credible, front-line, handle-it-all shaver on par with my trusty Norelco. My only concern is its longevity, which might take a star off if it isn't at least as durable as the cheaper models. The cost/benefit ratio of buying another one of these, and buying more razors will factor into whether or not I get replacement heads for it (something I checked to see if they had before buying) or go back to something cheaper and buy cheap razors for the standing hairs again. So my five star rating is on the assumption that the foils will last at least as long as they do in the cheaper models (and hopefully longer!) because otherwise it gives an excellent shave. I usually gush over my five star ratings, and I'd be doing it over this, but I don't know about longevity. The current price would make me hesitate about getting another one if the foil doesn't last substantially longer than the less expensive ones and/or if the price of head replacements has gone up as well. I'm always cost-conscious (I'm a cheap SOB), so value to me means excellent performance for the value. The performance IS excellent. The value remains to be seen. However, if the price comes down to about double the legal drinking age, get it if you need one. At that price, it's definitely worth it.

OH MY GOD. I AM SAVED!!!!
BEST SHAVER EVER!!!! To any reading this I am an African-American male getting ready to depart for basic training on Jan 13th (todays date of this review is Oct 12th) I have always had problems with the usage of regular razors and getting razor bumps. However, being clean shaven is part of the requirements and with the pay and duty requirements for regular enlisted I knew I wouldnt be able to go to the barber every other day to stay smooth. I searched literally for a week before deciding on which particular shaver to buy. I looked at the top expensive models from Braun and Panasonic but couldnt quite bite the bullet cuz of the price tag. After I figured out that I wouldn't spend more than 100 bucks I started looking at features of each specific razor. Keep reading: The thing that caught my eye about this is the Interceptor Shaving Technology. Basically it has a built in trimmer in between the two foils that will cut hair longer than stubble to stubble length. Every other foil shaver and even rotary shaver I looked at did not have this feature. And even my barber told me that with electric shavers you really have to not let the hair get longer than stubble or else they wont work. This appealed to me as more of a preventative and unique measure but still very beneficial I originally received this razor on Sept 24th and I have been using it for about 2 and a half weeks and have been using it without fail ever since. In my case a couple weeks before I received it I stopped shaving because I had to let my face heal from trying to use a regular razor so I had about a solid 1/16th inch of hair covering my face. I unboxed it, read the instructions, and it took about 8-10 mins but the result was like I had shaven with a razor. I had no whiskers or stray hairs anywhere and my skin felt baby smooth and not irritated! I have been using it ever since without fail and still NO RAZOR BUMPS only baby smooth skin!! It's cordless so all you have to do is make sure it's charged before you use it. Some tips: 1)Don't use alot of pressure when shaving. 2)DO NOT go in circles or fast. Use deliberate kind of slow straight back-forth up/down side to side motions. This thing has a pivot head that adjusts to the contours of your jawline and neck. After using for a little bit you will notice a sound difference when it is actually cutting vs going over smooth hair free skin 3)Make sure your skin is clean and completely dry and not oily 4)Make sure you clean after every use. This helps to keep the razors under the foil able to cut like a regular razor 5)For supreme results use day and night. I personally, use it at night only but my friend who I recommended this to has facial hair that grows extremely fast so he has to use it more but is still baby smooth and bump free like me I have recommended this to ALL of my friends and think I will purchase another one just in case it ever breaks or whatever. It is that good. LOVE IT!!!!!!

Comfortable but not a close shave
Based on reviews, I expected this to be better. It's okay, just with some drawbacks. After a month of use, here are my observations. I'll probably continue to use it for now as I'm medically restricted from using blade shaves but I miss a close shave. Pros: 1) It's really easy on the skin. 2) The middle bar does a good job of pulling whiskers that are curled or laying flat, cutting them when other razors might miss them. 3) The pop-up trimmer works well. Cons: 1) It takes three times as long to shave than with my really cheap razor. 2) It does not give a close shave.

The good and not so good, great price does just ok!
I am revising my previous review from 2-4 stars. It takes a couple weeks to try and adjust to a new shaver. At first my impression was cheap plastic construction and inexpensive shaving head. I have been using Braun for years but it cost over $200. Honest opinion is the $55 Remington shaves just as well but it takes a little longer. The end result is very good with a close shave and no skin irritation. Be sure to use electric shaver pre lotion to insure a clean well lubricated shave. It helps the shaver glide and lubricates the blades. So for the price of a Braun replacement head you can buy the Remington F5 shaver. UPDATE 60 Days: Now I have had a couple of months to use this shaver I would like to provide a couple more observations. I upgraded from 4 to 5 stars based on my shaving experience. Everyone’s face is a little different in terms of their facial hair. Some of you have course hair that requires shaving morning and afternoon. Others may shave once daily and a few lucky guys every other day. This shaver works great on any beard but may require a few more passes in some areas to get those uncooperative hairs. Patience is the key but the end result being a very smooth shave. The price of the shaver is a bargain compared to other foil shavers ie Braun. Ask you wife or girlfriend to feel the difference and if she enjoys a clean shaven guy then this is the shaver you want🌵

DON'T BUY IT - REMINGTON THINKS CUSTOMERS ARE STUPID
This is good foil razor, no doubts about a close and comfortable shave. Has a good weight in the hand, and doesn't pull or nicks the skin, goes on smooth. A couple of items on the negative side is that it's a bit noisy and it "leaks" some of the hairs it has shaved off. I sort of expected the former since I've had other foil Remingtons and they are all a bit noisier than the triple headed Norelcos I've owned, but they do shave a lot closer and in less time. As for "leaking" of shavings, well, I just don't know. Not sure if it's due to a defect in the Remington I got, or whether all the F5-5800 models do the same. To say the least, it's a bit annoying that the razor can't hold the shavings and they get over you. And it doesn't matter that the razor's "pocket" is emptied a couple of times during the shaving; give it a couple of passes and it starts to "leak" again. Oh, and by the way, I have average facial growth that I shave off each morning, so the razor is "leaking" an average day's facial growth. I gave it three stars due to the "leaking." UPDATE - 12/31/2014 Had rated the shaver with three stars and an "OK." That review triggered the following email from Remington, and I quote: "Hi, thank you for providing your feedback regarding your Remington product. We are sorry that our product did not meet your expectations and want to ensure your concerns are resolved. Please contact us at Contactus@remingtonproducts.com and reference case ID number 1257649 or call 1-800-736-4648, so that we may better assist you." Did not expect any communications or offers to "assist," so I was curious and responded. This was Remington's response, and I quote: "Thank you for your reply. I would suggest cleaning the shaver once you are done with half of your face, then continuing on with the other half." Folks, that reply really and truly peeled my onion, so to speak. I do not need Remington to offer "assistance" that is keyed to make their customer feel they are stupid or idiots who just fell off a turnip truck! So here was my response to their "assistance," and I quote: "Wow! So the answer to a possible manufacturing defect is to cleaning the shaver once I'm done with half my face? And what do you honestly think I have been doing all along? Do you really believe I needed that kind of obvious advice - come on now, you must believe I was born yesterday and couldn't possibly figure out that option on my own - no kidding? Any way, it seems you are trying to gloss over a defect in these shavers, so I plan to return mine for a full refund. You know? Before your cavalier response I was just going to accept the "leak" and bear it, but after your simplistic and who cares? "workaround" to the problem, you have indeed opened my eyes to what I'd call the true Remington approach to a legitimate, annoying defect I've had the misfortune to stumble upon. Many thanks for wasting my time in responding to your first communication - this shaver is absolutely going back for a FULL refund, even though I was planning to keep it, and based on your response it will likely be the last Remington I care to buy. Wish your brand the very best wishes - rest assured you have just made me a Norelco customer." Bottom line: Retracted my original three stars to one, and strongly suggest DON'T BUY! this razor or any other Remington product for that matter. And Remington, rest assured I will make it my mission in life to let everyone know your company treats their customers as if they were idiots, let alone that you have a defective product line.
