PROS 1. Very comfortable. 2. Sturdy. 3. Well made, looks like it will last a while (according to my father, who is an engineer). CONS 1. I am unable to open and close it by myself. (Solution: 2 people can open/close it fairly easily.) 2. Foot rest mildly uncomfortable when sitting for long periods (6+ hours). (Solution: I cut a pool noodle and put it on the footrest bar - super comfortable now.) 3. Other reviewers mentioned the seat rips over time. (Solution: I am careful not to place too much weight on the front edge of the seat when sitting or standing. I use my arms to lift/lower myself rather than sliding on/off the edge of the chair. Bonus: it's good arm exercise! Tip: if you are on the short side, as I am, try using a folding step stool (I got mine from Dollar Tree). It makes it easy to get in/out of this chair.) OVERALL I LOVE THIS CHAIR! I didn't want to invest too much money into a chair that I use for events because I tend to be rough on things. I did a lot of research, discussed various chair designs with my engineer father, and came to the conclusion that this chair looked well made and like it would last for a while (even around me LOL). Shipping was fairly fast, the item was well packaged - the box was a bit beat up, but the chair was in excellent condition. I was happily surprised when it arrived. Although, I am unable to open/close the chair by myself, I am SO GLAD I purchased the chair. It is well designed and surprisingly comfortable. I actually prefer sitting in it to my other chairs at work. It's lightweight and easy to move, but sturdy and doesn't wobble when sitting/moving around in the seat. Although the price was a bit more than I wanted to pay, for the quality and comfort this chair provides, I would rather pay a bit more for a chair that is comfortable and going to last years, rather than purchase a cheaper chair that will need to be repeatedly replaced. Additionally, I saved the shipping box, taped up the damaged areas, and added handles to the box. This way I can use the box as an added layer of protection while transporting the chair to/from events. Overall, I LOVE THIS CHAIR!!!

I like the fact that it's sturdy and it's tall, being that I'm 5'7 and it has helped my back tremendously. IYKYK! Also, I love the side pockets it has to put trash in or hold makeup brushes as you're doing makeup and the pull-out table to place a drink on or hold makeup palettes as well! Overall a great purchase and worth its bucks! The only thing I dislike is that it's hard to open and fold back up, being that as mentioned, veryyyy sturdy!

So, I bought a used one and I just received it the other day and I have to say WOAH! This chair is impressive. I've never seen any like it. Its big and comfortable! It has a nice table on the side. At first I thought maybe they forgot to send the foot rest attachment with it being used and all but then I discovered that it is attached to the chair, you just have to pull it down to set it up and then when you fold the chair back up you need to pull it back up. I'm more than impressed with this chair, I love it! it's perfect for doing makeup with and hair although it might be too high for me to do hair as it can be tiring when styling the top part of the head, it's ok because even if I don't use it for hair I can have my client sit on a different chair and use the director's chair to put my stuff on, it's so sturdy that I think I can use the whole thing to set up my stuff. This is great! It also was shipped out fast, the price was right and free shipping! I'd say this was a GREAT investment!

This is the perfect chair for a freelance makeup artist as myself. I can't believe it took me so long to finally invest in a director's chair. This chair has completely changed the way I do makeup for my clients. I'm not having to hunch over anymore, therefore, my back isn't in pain. The chair itself is very sturdy. It may seem a little high but I guarantee you, it's not. I'm 5'7" and my partner is 5'1" and the chair works for the both of us as artists. The fold out table on the side is great for clients to rest their drinks or phone on as well as for us to leave a few tools in between use. The foot rest is a plus for the clients. My clients love being able to rest their legs on the foot rest adding to the comfort level. The chair can definitely hold some weight. My heaviest client was well over 250 lbs and she sat comfortably. The only real "complaint" is that it was a little hard to pull out at the beginning but that adds to the sturdiness of the chair. My order came with the carrying case and I would highly recommend anyone to get the carrying case if you can. It makes transporting the chair that much easier. Albeit, it's not a must. My friend didn't get the carrying case and she's fine with it. Lastly, For hair, the chair can be a little too tall....

I'm a makeup artist and purchased the chair for my clients' use. First of all, when I first got the chair, I thought it was huge. But once opened, it's actually not that bad.. Very roomy and extremely comfortable. Speaking of opening the chair, I did encounter the initial problem per a lot of the reviews on here with opening the chair.. The fabric and seat portion tends to fall into place easily once u try to open the chair, but you may find that the legs will not easily lock into place. I found the best way to manage the opening process is to position your feet between the legs of the chair, just so your left foot pushes against the front left leg and the right foot against the front right leg and push down the seat with a slight bit of force with your hands. I practiced this quite a few times and the chair just quickly opens and locks into place. To close, I just make sure my legs are out of the way of the chair( because it will gently snap shut) .. I position my forearms on the padded arms of the chair and use that to leverage myself to pull up the sides of the seat, and it should close right up for you easily. Takes about one or two times to practice but I'm a female, about 130lbs and I find it to very easy to do once u get the hang of it. It really is not that bad to open and close. Once closed, there is a carrying strap at the top of the chair which means u wid have to hold the chair lengthwise to carry it around. I'm 5'7" and for me it's not that bad, but I could imagine it being cumbersome for someone shorter. The weight is fine, it's not heavy to carry around. Just wish there was a carrying strap on the side rather than top of chair. In terms of the footrest, I found sitting in the chair very comfortable and the footrest was helpful and did not get in the way. Highly recommend this chair, it shipped early from this seller and came in good condition. Would recommend this as a nice sturdy and comfortable directors chair option if you are a makeup artist.

I LOVE this chair! I bought it for when I'm selling my bath & body products at markets on the weekends. They say being eye level with customers is important, and that you should always stand. I was looking for something that would put me on that eye level, but also keep me comfortable when I'm there from 7am-5pm. This was the best choice and I'm so excited I splurged on it. The extra pockets on the side are perfect, the fold up table is wonderful for setting down my money box and a drink. I even put my purse in the netting on the bottom, which is beyond helpful when it's raining. The net fits my little cooler too, so it's nice and roomy. The only issue I've had is it seems to hit at a weird spot on the back of my legs, but thats just due to my height & depth of the chair(I'm 5"3 and some change), so it'll be very comfortable for a tall person. I'd also maybe like a taller back, but thats just being nit picky at this point. Overall an excellent purchase that I'd recommend to anyone who sells at indie markets and craft fairs!

It’s really high but good quality chair

I am a retail vendor at events around the region and upgraded to this chair from an hand-me-down folding camping chair. I found this recommended on a vendor group and I decided to make the investment. I was frustrated at the trouble it was to get up and down from my old chair that was so low to the ground and was excited to have something that put me up higher, that also folded up and was sturdy enough to last and hold my weight if I plopped down without fear of something breaking (thought I am well within the weight range, this baby goes up to 300+ lbs. of support). I needed to use an unexpected amount of force to pop it open but it just makes me feel like it is as sturdy as they claim. Once it's open it's not shutting without your help! The extra features of folding table, side pockets, and mesh shelf underneath, in addition to the carrying bag make this a worthwhile investment for someone who does events regularly, or simply wants an excellent tailgating chair, especially on the sturdier side. I'd recommend this to anyone and may be purchasing another for future employees.

This chair is so great! I'm a makeup artist and about 5'4, this chair is perfect for clients. It is sturdy, roomy, comfortable, and light so you can easily transport it. The side pouches are perfect for storing my used brushes so they don't mix in with the clean ones. The canvas material is heavy and doesn't look cheap. The tray is a BIG hit with clients since they almost always have something they're sipping on; it's really sturdy as well. Very quality chair, so glad I bought this one.

this was a little taller than I thought. My husband has trouble getting out of regular camping chairs, so needed a taller one. We will have to cut the end of the legs off.
