Can you use this on the bottom of a PVC enclosure? Just want to make sure enough heat will get transmitted through the container and substrate

Mine overheated, scorched the wood cabinet below and cracked my glass-bottomed vivarium. This was with a thermostat. One panel on the mat shorted out, causing the plastic to melt around it. I do not advise using it on PVC.
