Charged it up, put it in my Zippo shell, replacing a perfectly good lighter. But I'm getting tired of replenishing the fluid, as a matter of fact I can't even get fluid. I ordered 2 bottles of Ronsonol back at the beginning of April and never received them. This little doodad lites up my smokes pretty nice. A double press of the activator button and a glowing X fires it right up. It only took about 2 hours to charge it up. It fit perfectly in my classic lighter case. Appearance is pretty cool and modern and versatility is great, it's windproof. At the price, it's a great buy also.

After considerable thought and research I decided to go with Zippo as my primary lighter and a big part of that was the arc insert. The whole insert system itself was a master stroke in my opinion. I got the double butane torch and the arc at the same time. Despite reading and following the instructions I couldn't get the first arc to ignite. I returned it. I received the replacement shortly thereafter and had the same issue. Then as I was about to give up and return the whole thing I happened to notice a little paper insert in the box that near the bottom mentions a double tap ignition system. Oi! It works like a champ. Perfect fit, excellent construction, clean, safe, and for those that can read easy to use. No issue with the double butane torch whatsoever. For the price they are both simply excellent. Since this experience I have thought of applications for some of the other inserts available and at these prices why not? I read the instruction leaflet and it says press the ignition button and hold it. Be nice if they more prominently displayed the double tap instruction somewhere as it is an excellent safety feature. They should also somehow give users the option of a single press.

very cool lighter insert (it doesn't come with a case), now i don't have to worry about fluid leaking out over time or having butane to refill it, since it doesn't use those, it uses electricity! sometimes the electricity doesn't create an arc for a couple seconds seems like that only happens if it has been sitting for a while and it figures itself out pretty quickly. I am still confident that this thing will work forever. it is slightly heavier than a standard old school zippo insert but its a small difference in my opinion. MY ONLY REAL COMPLAINT is that it uses micro usb instead of usb c. i know its something really small and stupid that doesn't really matter but I dream of a future where everything i own charges with the same cable. If zippo released a usb c version i would buy it instantly i really like this lighter.

These are great and completely wind proof! You could light a cigarette riding a motorcycle with ease lol. I use mine constantly throughout the day and the battery life gives me about 2 days so I'm perfectly happy with that. If you're not a smoker and use this for candles or stoves or camping I imagine you'd get weeks worth of lights out of one charge. If lighting fuses on fireworks the result is immediate, as soon as the fuse touches the arc it's lit unlike the second or 2 delay with a regular gas lighter. Also the cool factor is up there. Fits any original size zippo case great just like the insert that came with it. It has a quick, double press safety feature so tap the button twice, holding down on the second one, to light it. Had this for a little over a month of daily use and no issues thus far.

I got this when it first came out (yes, I waited awhile since purchase before review) and was excited that I got to carry my normal Zippo case and have an arc lighter. Shortly after receiving and using this, I had issue with the insert. I called and spoke with a wonderful lady who after a brief discussion had me send the insert back and then shipped me a new replacement one. I cannot say how pleasant it is to work with Zippo when you have an issue that they stand behind all of their products! Zippo Customer Service = A+ After getting the replacement insert, and using it for awhile here are my thoughts/review on this product. The Good - It does what its supposed to, it lights your cigarette in any windy conditions (I did not try to light anything other than cigarettes so cannot speak to other materials) The Bad - I used this insert in multiple cases and they all fit too tightly, it was not easy to get the insert out to charge (read below for more on this, you will have to charge this frequently) like the normal insert. Zippo please make a case version that has a hole that allows charging without taking the insert out. Also I had to put the cigarette much closer to the insert vs my friends arc lighters that I used and made me want to get this insert. The Ugly - This does not hold the charge capacity that was advertised, even new. If your going to use this insert regularly you will need to charge every day and it may not make it through a full day. This is why I went back to using the regular fuel insert, I know you can fill it up and it last 1-2 weeks easy.

This is what you get when you don't want to worry about fuel Flint or Wick works great my last one lasted me over a year that was to be expected ordered another one going to keep one in the drawer these charge up fast for two packs of cigarettes they do fine

Pretty cool. I always keep a lighter in my emergency kit along with a blade and first aid gear. The problem with carrying my zippo with fuel in it is the fuel evaporated after a week or 10 days. Not sure how safe that is but it weirds me out the fuel would evaporate so fast. So when I saw the option to upgrade the igniter, I decided to try it out. There isn’t a big delay on ignition except I do notice you have to hit the button twice to activate the device. I assume this is a safety feature to prevent accidental ignition. Once it does activate, it has a low buzzing noise and will burn materials just as fast if not quicker than a regular flame. A weird thing that maybe I find interesting alone is that wind does affect the plasma as it does move the electrons around. Nothing too drastic. But noticeable. It wont knock out the igniter. If I had one complaint it is that I wish the prongs were longer and stuck up a little higher so you don’t have to tip the device up into whatever you are lighting. I guess it is another safety feature as not to zap the metallic finish on the case. No more messy fuel spills trying to fill. Works when I need it to work without worrying if the fuel evaporated after 10 days. Plasma igniter is neat. It is a tighter fit putting this in and pulling it out of the lighter shell. Tighter than the fuel insert. But the interchangeability with the standard shells allows you to carry multiple lighters for different needs with different looks. With this, I took out the pipe lighter insert from the faux wood zippo and put this in. I miss the cool opening of the Zippo where you light it in two quick showy moves. It takes two presses of the button to switch on for safety. Possibly, and maybe I’m wrong, but this seems slightly safer around small kids than a flame lighter that can continue to burn when left open. I miss the smell of the fuel. I found it relaxing when I got hit by massive panic attacks.
