desertcart.com : Rinehart Field Target RFT 9" | Portable Sand-Filled Archery Target with Carry Handle | Broadhead & Field Point Compatible | Made in USA : Other Products : Sports & Outdoors Review: Fun, tough, and easy to transport - I received this for Christmas and I love it. It's a lot of fun to toss out there and take some shots at it. The target itself seems to be very well made and the field points of my 55# Hoyt recurve don't penetrate all that much. It actually works as advertised; because it is weighted, no matter how much it rolls it always ends up with the correct orientation (meaning, the slightly flat side is always on the ground). Obviously missed arrows tend to end up in the ground - if this is something that bothers you, this target might not be for you. Although I haven't had this too long, I really think it will improve my accuracy because it gets me off of regular targets. Personally, I found pulling arrows out of this a little tough (not nearly so hard as to deduct a star), but maybe it's because I'm used to a really old target where the arrows come out super easy. Having used this a few times, I have no doubts about it's durability and I'll update this review and let you know if it stands the test of time. For the price (about $34 at the time of the review) this is an absolute steal and I completely recommend this to you. I hope this review helps you make a decision. Review: Good for the accurate shooter - This this is slick. Perfect for tossing and practicing gauging distance, take it to camp, throw her under the stand to practice shots. It’s essentially the size of a basketball so as long as you hit the target relatively accurate it’s smoked. The outter appearance is a tad rough but most targets are. I am shooting 62.8#, about 400 grains at 268fps(330 ibo) and getting between 3”-5” of penetration.

Small and tough enough
Love this archey target. I have not been shooting it for more than a couple weeks, so I'll update if new details come to light ... but right, shooting a 45# recurve with feild point, this thing has no problem stopping an arrow. Also, litte effort to pull the arrow. And what a nice change from the stationary bag target ... my favorite is to toss the target backwards, over your head(safely!!!) Then turn and use your instinctive aiming to plug a dot. Next step is to take it for a walk at the range on a Stumpshoot.

Cool Target, great for travel!
Great target to help improve accuracy, love shooting at this at 60 yards our; really has helped in tightening my groups. Easy to pull arrows from my compound bow. If you shoot on the ground it will move. I recommend hanging the target via the rope loop or setting a secondary larger block or bag target behind.

Great target that is self contained
Great target that is self contained. It is small enough to throw in a duffel bag and hop on a bike to ride to a favorite shooting location. Arrows remove easily, and it seems to hold up really well. I use a 55# recurve, my wife a 45# recurve. I am not sure how it would hold up to my 70# longbow, but I have other targets for that.

nice portable target -- you really have to hit it dead on.
we are using this indoors, at about 60 feet, an a 19th century stable in near Northeast DC. if I am not on the center of target, an arrow will occasionally glance off and hit a brick wall, which is an expensive price to pay for inaccuracy. I figure that if I am going to be inviting a deer home to dinner at a similar range, I should not miss. It is a cool little portable target. I sort of wish it were a cube, or had a larger flat face, so the surface area facing me would be a little more forgiving of shots that are towards the edge, which often glance off.

Affordable, portable target
It works as intended, but the ball was manufactured poorly from the start. It came with tears and dents, paint splotches running up the string, and the two halves of the ball were messily put together. Ultimately, this is an affordable alternative to the 18-1 target, but I wouldn't pass up an 18-1 over the ball.

Works for 25-30 lb bows.
Update. I've had the ball for some time now and I'm upgrading the ball to 5 stars. Infact I'm going to get a couple more. Only the first day, but I like it so far. I shoot a 30lb recurve so I wasn't sure if the arrows would stick in it. Turns our both my Easton 2016's and my home build wood arrows do fine. At 15-20 yards I get about 3" penetration and the wood 2" penetration. Yes your arrows can glance off, but I toss the ball into a ravine and shoot so not a worry for me. I use to shoot milk cartons, but this should work better as my wood arrows won't pass through tearing off feathers. I'm only giving it four stars for now. We'll see if time takes it up to five.
