What is the average aggregate size?

About the size and shape of uncooked rice. Very light and particles cling to one another, something like static cling, but do not clump. Vacuum-packed, 8-quart ziplock bag weighs 2.5 pounds uncharged. Assume it weighs significantly more when wet.

What is the pyrolysis temperature, and how long does the process take? What type of wood is it?

Soft wood. IDK the pyrolysis temperature, but I think to be marketed as Bio-Char, it must be done throughout a certain temperature range, and with a minimum amount of oxygen during pyrolysis. Plantonix has some great products at quite inexpensive prices. 2 qts of Garden Charcoal costs around the same price as 8 qts of Plantonix, when checking out some others. Anderson Bio-Char is a top tier, already activated, and very well known, high quality product. It has a slightly lower price, but is only 4 qts of Bio-Char, and is one of the best made. I've had great results with both, but the Plantonix Bio-Char must be activated (simple. See online instructions). The greatest place to soak beneficial microbes so they'll stay alive and producing in the Root Zone.

No it needs to be charged. Otherwise will remove soil nutrients until it stops soaking them up. Love the rice-sized particles, which offer lots of surface area and homes for beneficial microbes once soaked in compost tea or fertilizer dissolved in water.

What is the average particle size of the biochar?

Real small, about the size of a bb
