It's time to catch that sticky fingered filcher Gumshoes! ๐ค
A brilliant blast from the past. Talk about nostalgic! The over look of this little unit definitely looks like an old apple 2 and just instantly reminds me of computer day back in school. The picture quality looks just like it did when played on an old apple monitor with just a bit more clarity. The sound is fantastic, not to loud but not to quiet, with three different volume levels. The game obviously plays perfect. Does not skip a beat. I am so glad I got this, both actually. As I did purchase ,The Oregon Trail unit as well. If you get the chance to get your mittens on either, I highly recommend it. Well made. Comfort to hold while playing and gameplay is just brilliant and nostalgic. 5 STARS!! I hope more are released.

Good gift for someone with nostalgia for early PC games
The screen is very small and hard to read at times. The game itself is true to the original Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego which makes it very giftable for a person known to have nostalgia for old games from the days of Amiga and Atari. I wish the screen was bigger but for the price you really can't ask much more than what you will get. As a plus, they did add a sound button with off, medium and high sound settings which is great because in high sound mode it can be annoying to someone near you. I would recommend buying, but if you are like me you will need your reading eyeglasses to play this game.

Fun Game
The version of Carmen Sandiego on this handheld game isn't one that I originally played. I think the first one of these games I had was the 'Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego?'. Still - I'm enjoying playing with this handheld game. I bought this mainly because I have one of the other similar handheld games - the Oregon Trail one, and I liked it.

Great piece of my childhood!
Works well, graphics are crisp and the sound is great! Sort of wish this was the "Deluxe" version with digitized speech and music, but it's cool anyway. Only issue was the included batteries were almost dead and I was starting to think the unit was defective until I swapped them out for some fresh AA's and viola, problem solved! I seriously hope Basic Fun makes more of these handhelds! I'd love to see "Sim City", "Master of Orion", "Eye of The Beholder", etc..

Fantastic blast-from-the-past repackaged for today's youth
Whomever came up with this idea is a genius. I loved the Carmen Sandiego games as a kid on my old PC. I purchased this for my 13-year-old as a smaller gift at Christmas, half expecting him to maybe give it a cursory look and not play with it again (while I solve the mysteries on my own after bedtime). To my surprise, he loves it. Warning: You will learn about the inadequacy of your public school's geography education very quickly though. SON: Dad, where is the Taj Mahal? ME: Well, It's an Indian-made mausoleum. What are your choices? SON: New York, Agra, Singapore and London. ME: Okay, so now where do you think? SON: Ah! New York!

Classic
Got this for my kids since they took a liking to the new (and kinda lame) Carmen Sandiego cartoon. They have no idea they are playing an educational game. They are having a blast googling the clues. The auto shut off is a little aggressive unfortunately, so you have to log back in while researching sometimes

screen is small and hard to read
Overall I love this and its a great price...Exactly like the old Microsoft-1st gen apple computer that I played it on in 1985. Great game that I missed and that doesn't really get enough recognition today. The only thing I wish is that the screen was just a little bit larger...Hard to see even with my glasses on.
