The European Expansion is a fantastic addition to an already brilliant game. Our family love it and our 9 year old bird-lover is as obsessed as we are! It seamlessly builds on the base game, introducing a wonderful variety of new birds, fresh powers, and interesting mechanics that add depth without making the game feel overly complicated. The new bird abilities are particularly well designed, creating more opportunities for interaction between players and encouraging different strategies. The artwork remains stunning, and the educational element of learning about Europe’s diverse birdlife adds even more charm to the experience. What I appreciate most is that the expansion enhances the game without changing what makes Wingspan great in the first place. It feels like a natural evolution rather than an unnecessary add-on. The inclusion of new end-of-round goals and purple “end of game” powers keeps gameplay feeling fresh and replayable. If I had one small criticism, it’s that some of the new bird powers can take a game or two to fully understand and get your head around, especially for newer players. However, the learning curve is minor and quickly outweighed by the additional variety and strategic options they bring. Overall, I would highly recommend the European Expansion to any Wingspan fan. It adds meaningful content, increases replayability, and brings even more beauty and enjoyment to an already exceptional game. If you love Wingspan, this expansion is absolutely worth adding to your collection.

I see this expansion as a "must" because it greatly improves the base game, completely revitalizing the engine-building strategy. In terms of complexity and strategy, the addition of nectar as a wild resource and the redesigned player mats make the game feel much more fluid. It smooths out the early-game resource bottleneck without making the choices feel watered down. The gameplay feels rebalanced, especially since the new end-of-round goals and bird cards offer much more viable alternative paths to victory beyond just spamming eggs in the final round. The instructions are crystal clear and easy to digest, making the new mechanics seamless to integrate right out of the box. There is virtually no extra assembly required; you just shuffle the high-quality cards into your deck and swap out the dice and player mats. Speaking of components, the appearance and overall quality of the box, pieces, and cards are top-notch, perfectly matching the beautiful aesthetic of the original game. Whether you are playing solo or with a full group of five, it scales perfectly and keeps the playing time right in that sweet spot of 40–70 minutes. If you love Wingspan, once you play with this expansion you wont want to go back

Brilliant addition to the game. I bought it primarily because I live in the UK and it is European birds. However, it is more than just bird cards. There are new actions that make the game more interesting. It makes the game a little harder but still maintains it's laid back feel. The art work and quality of components are superb.

Excellent quality.

This is an excellent expansion. Delayed in getting it but the nectar really opens the game up so an essential expansion to get.

Pros: 1. As the base game the cards are beautifully illustrated and of high quality. The rule book is also of good quality. 2. The extra bird cards add some really interesting dynamics and tactics into the game. For me this adds massively to the game and our continued enjoyment. Such cards include end of round bonuses which mean extra use of spare food and hand cards. 3. Includes updated automa if you do want to play single player 4. They have made the new cards fit the percentages for the previous bonus cards. Cons (very minor almost negligible): 1. You can now not fit all the cards in 1 tray although we have found you can take out the bonus cards and put them in a resealable bag and then it will all fit in the one base game box. Not an issue if only played at home but takes up more space if you do want to transport it.

If you like the base game, this is more of the same. Art is nice and the game is good.

Took a wee while to get our head around it, but there is such a lot of good stuff going on in this game. For this bird loving household, it was an absolute hit. I particularly like that it's not an antagonistic game where you try to sabotage others. Everyone does their thing with secret missions and maximising the potential in their own hand. A lovely vibe.

Adds extra birds to the game~ buy this after you've bought and played the base game and the Oceania expansion a number of times. Overall Wingspan is one of my favourite games so i would recommend this expansion to see more cute birdies

Amplia muy bien el juego base, lo suficiente para sentirse diferente con las nuevas cartas de ave y los nuevos objetivos de fin de ronda. Aunque es algo complejo notar las nuevas cartas durante las primeras partidas. Lo recomiendo si ya se la han dado bastantes partidas al juego base.

A mistaken purchase that I will keep, extra bird cards and a hummingbird game add on. The americas expansion offers an additional dimension to the original and more ways to score points. That being said- this equals A LOT of bird cards. Also includes Kelly green eggs. Plus the hummingbird cards are smaller and fun to handle. Fact filled.

Excellent expansion. The nectar changes the game play significantly, and end of game cards can turn the tables around without your opponents knowing your final move!
