12 cubic foot black retro refrigerator
So far I'm really enjoying this refrigerator. It's one of the few refrigerators on the market that fits the space I'm working on. I'ts tall enough to fit more stuff in than the typical 10 cubic foot fridge, and its width is perfect for me-- deep enough to fit a lot of food, but not too deep that things are getting lost in the back. I like the can storage in the door too. I can hear the fridge motor turn on, but I don't think it's loud. It uses about 300 watts per hour, which is not too much power for a full size refrigerator. The things I put in the freezer have stayed frozen, and items i get out of the fridge are cold, so It's working just fine so far. I also love the retro look.

Great for a small family
I don't typically write reviews for my Amazon buys, but this item has exceeded my expectations for the price by far. We moved into our first home and the old fridge left behind was just not worth trying to salvage. Being somewhat cash strapped and not ready to commit to a full-size replacement (especially others with this retro style), we stumbled upon this. I was skeptical at first, but the fridge is a perfectly managable size for two people in terms of storage space, and the black retro look is great. Appearance has kept it's charm and still looks new six months on. No issues with shipping, no issues of any kind. Having a smaller fridge leaves us more space in the kitchen as well, which may be hard to lose whenever we upgrade to a full-size fridge as our family grows. The end game for this will become either a garage or basement fridge, when that time comes. The only con I can give is that some items toward the back of the very top shelf may get a little too chilly, we've had a few smaller items freeze back there - the best problem to have with a fridge, it can cool too well at times. Might even just be something we could adjust further with the freezer settings, but we're happy.

Pretty, but also pretty disappointed
This is a nice looking fridge. Plenty of space for me and has a small footprint. I get a lot of complements on it so I wish I could rate this a 5. But, the handles are cheap flimsy plastic and I had to email support after just a few weeks of use to get a replacement as one of the handles decided to break. I had been using it happily since then, but lo and behold the whole fridge decided to stop working and took all my food with it. I've had this fridge for less than six months. I mailed customer service about it and I am waiting on a resolution. Just something to consider before buying.

Good fridge with a few small quirks
I've been using this fridge for just over a year now and I'm very happy with it overall. There's lots of space inside and the fridge shelves have a good selection of height options to accommodate all kinds of stuff. There has been no ice build up, but some stuff that gets pushed near the back of the fridge sometimes will start to freeze or develop frost. I wish the freezer had a second option for shelf positioning. The shelf can only go in the middle so I've had a few instances where I had to get creative with the layout of stuff inside. Once or twice I've had to repackage something because there was just barely not enough room to go in with the original packaging. The other thing I don't like is the bottom door shelf. It's tiny so you're limited with what you can store there and it's easily blocked from view by the shelves directly above it that extend farther out. It's pretty quiet as well. My dog's water fountain sits next to the fridge and I can clearly hear their water moving around more than I notice the fridge aside from the brief moment when the compressor kicks on. Most of the time the fridge is completely silent.

Absolutely worth the price of admission
I am not sure what some of these people were expecting or even talking about. You cant find a better bargain for five-hundred bucks. Its not a fridge for a family of 5, but if you are single or live with a significant other, its perfect. It has a beautiful retro appearance and works great. It hums every now and then to control temperature, but nothing major unless you sleep in the kitchen. It has some pretty cool features in it to include compartments for gallon size drinks, sodas, and shelving. The freezer isnt the biggest, but if you want that much stuff, get a deep freeze. It arrived very quick and the packaging was excellent. If you want a cool looking fridge that actually works well without paying a lot of money, then this is worth the price of admission.

Cute retro look
Overall, the Galanz is a great little fridge. It's main draw back is the crisper drawer having its handle at the very bottom of the plastic tray meaning you have to bend ALL the way down to slide it open. As you slide, it is not on any track so it feels rather cheaply made. It seems to keep everything cold enough, in fact it took a few trials to get it to where it wouldn't freeze the top shelf or the veggies. I like the retro look and it was the ONLY one I found (after researching for hours) a fridge that would fit into my small opening in my new house. (my house was built in 1989)... The one thing that was disappointing, although I had read another reviewer comment on the handles being made out of plastic rather than stainless steel...that would have been a nicer touch although the plastic seems durable and looks like the real thing. Overall for the cost, IMO, it is a 4 star deal.

It’s cold inside!!!
I love my new fridge. It looks awesome in my room. The freezer section is large enough for a bag of ice, 2 boxes of Texas Toast, a pkg of frozen mixed fruit, and a carton of Blue Bell. The bottom is big too. And I like the way the doors shut All in all, as of this date, I’m very satisfied. And it will hold, at minimum, 4 12 packs of Dr Pepper cans along with 4 6 packs of Dr Pepper 16.9 fl oz bottles.
