Does this support a M1 chip?

I'm currently using an M1 Max 16" Macbook Pro. I purchased the hub because it said, "2021" as well. I have the product on now and it fits perfectly. As for the info on the box, it doesn't say "2021". They definitely need to change the info on the site. Also—for some reason, amazon doesn't accept my photos. Other than that—no problems so far! Hope this helped!

Will this fit on a late 2015 model?

No, it will not. It is a USB C hub and if I had not been on the road I would have returned it. It does not fit the USB C properly and never worked. I had to spend $70 on a USB C hub from Apple directly.
