This review concerns the SOL Republic AMPS AIR+ In-Ear Headphones - Active Noise Cancelling Wireless Earphones, 7-Hour Playtime and 24 Hours with Charging Case, Sweatproof, IPX5 Rating - Black, price at review £179.99. First the good news! Beautifully packaged; Feel like a quality build; Great specification; Good battery Life; Sound quality Ok (when working, see below); The bad news! Bluetooth connectivity, difficult to say the least, No sound volume adjustment on ear pieces; Intermittent music reception; Changing Mode, hit or miss; When Bluetooth connection finally established - no sound emitting; Small instruction manual - very sparse with detail; My £30 set from another manufacturer, connected first time and operation worked as expected. Item was received free of charge under the Amazon Vine program - Maybe i was unlucky and sent a pre-production set - otherwise i would have returned for full refund. I will edit review once i have spent another 24 hours trying to obtain better results!

Completely ignoring the price (currently £180) for a moment, these are average true-wireless buds. Average sound, poor ANC, average battery life, poor moisture proofing, average size. As a first pair of wireless buds, that are not being bought for a specific technical need, nor for fashion reasons, they'll do. And at £50 you'd be pretty happy with what you got. If you are a more discerning user, then you are going to find at least one aspect of them annoying. But if they WERE £50 then maybe you'd swallow that, because nice through a £200 pair of buds would be, you just don't have that kind of money. Oh, but wait, they are nearly £200. Move along.

I had a mixed experience with these earbuds. Definitely the sound quality is superb and I was impressed. But I didn't find any "noise cancellation" at all and was really disappointed with this. I've had issues pairing earbuds in the past, but as long as you take them out of the case at the same time it's OK. Otherwise one connects to your device, the other doesn't, and then you have to start the whole rigmarole all over again. In addition, it is infuriating not to be able to adjust the volume from the earbuds. I don't have Siri and don't need to use these for anything other than listening to music. Sometimes making something uber-clever isn't that useful and it is much better to keep an item slightly simpler!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS, FIT & COMFORT These are very tactile earbuds, sturdy and well-designed for aesthetic appeal. The portable case adds to the sophistication. The earbuds are a little chunky looking but not too cumbersome in the ears; I found them a pretty good fit for my ears (they don't keep slipping out) and the earbuds feel comfortable during use. The earphones I think are water resistant; they’re advertised as being sweat and rain resistant but I haven’t personally used them in wet conditions to comment further on this aspect. FUNCTIONALITY & FEATURES Connectivity - it’s super easy to pair with your device and once paired, it will automatically connect with your device and provides a reliable, uninterrupted connection. Button design - it’s just one button to control functionality so you can play and pause your music and answer and end calls with the same button for a very streamlined experience. Charging - I love that the case doubles up as a portable charger so you can safety store your earphones and charge up on the go; a fully charged case will let you recharge your earbuds twice before it needs to be charged again. SOUND QUALITY One of the things that stood out about these earphones for me was the emphasis on bass, making them ideal for listening to music and getting an immersive sound experience if you’re doing something like watching an adventure movie on your phone. I do agree the bass quality is very good for this and suits the way I use the earphones. I like the overall clarity and quality of the sound and the microphone and noise cancellation seem perfectly fine for voice calls I've taken while listening to music on my phone. If you're used to having a single bluetooth headset with sound in just one ear, it does take a bit of getting used to having sound coming into both ears during a call but funnily enough, I quite like it. SUMMARY With the emphasis on superior bass, these earphones seem to be geared towards music lovers, but being able to use it like a bluetooth headset for phone calls is very handy and removes the necessity to carry around earphones for music and an earpiece for calls. At the time I initially got these earphones, the listed price was close to £200… I think this is much too high for this brand which usually has their wireless earphones priced at around £100-£130. They're superior quality earphones though and I do think they're well-made and built to last so they look like a good choice if you want to go wireless and streamline your devices.

Wow wow wow. We have broadcast quality sound equipment at work and i had to take these for a spin on that equipment. Absolutely outstanding performance across a nice wide audio bandwidty that even the young man or woman would hear (which adults dont due to age degredation)stunning performance across 100Hz to 20KHz and the very interesting active noise cancellation that sllows situational awareness and others to talk to you (unless you have the primary source at full pelt. The pod is both a carry case and a charge station that extends the ear phone power to 24hrs. The batteries last about 7hrs without top up. Easy earplug replacement and hygiene care. The pod is likewise easy to keep clean and recharge (microUSB power feed). I initially thought these looked a bit too big, but that was wrong, very comfy in the ear. In fact this is so well designed i am impressed, the price is worth paying for this rich and good performance.. Happy to highly recommend, Andrew

I found the sound from these was excellent. Noise cancelling indoors was better than the same feature outdoors, for some reason, and those irritating sounds of nature crept through. There's an emphasis on bass notes, but that's fine by me; others might regret the absence of an app to adjust this. The bluetooth works seamlessly.

I didn't know what to expect from these earbuds. I have previously owned headphones by Sol Republic. The next to the last pair I owned were wired Sol Republic earphones and I loved them. Then I bought the original Amp Airs. They were pretty good in terms of TWEs but the battery life sucked and the left earbud cut out on me from time to time. With that being said. I was looking for a pair of True Wireless earbuds with good battery life and ANC at a decent price. I am not an official Audiophile but I did have and returned the Beo Play e8 ( 3rd edition ) a few days ago. Those earbuds have Bluetooth 5.1 and sound awesome. As a reminder, Bluetooth 5.0 or 5.1 does not guarantee a solid connection. So far I have not had any cut out on these earbuds. Nor did I have any cut outs with the E8s . But they lack ANC. and if you like to do outside work at coffee shops you know that they tend to blast the music of various types over the establishment speakers. So, ANC has become a requirement for me in terms of headphones. Anyway as an alternative to over the ear cans, The Sol Republic Amp Air Pros are great. Not as good as the Beo Play in terms of sound, but pretty darn close. I have only had these around 2 days but they are a solid performer. They block about as much sound as the Air Pod Pros but not as much as the Sony wf-1000xm3s which I own but rarely use anymore. The Sony’s are not sweat-resistant and profile wise are larger. Anyway, the sound on the AMP Air Plus are great. Way better than the original Amp Airs. The Sounds Sage is reasonably wide but sculpted. And of course, they have great punchy bass. I wanted earbuds that sounded good without the need to use an App. Bottom the AMP Air Plus sounds great, The ANC takes a sting out of outside noise. I am sitting under a speaker right now. Is it blocking the noise? No, not completely. No ANC can do that. But under extreme conditions, these buds block noise from air and humans talking a lot. I would say 70% of the noise. So I recommend them.

La connexion bluetooth se fait un peu aléatoirement. Autant j’ai pu l’appairer très facilement sur mon vieux s8 mais j’ai bataillé à l’appairer sur mon s8+. Même en suivant les instructions, ça a été légèrement complexe. J’ai mis 1 jour. Le son est vraiment très bon. Les basses sont excellentes quand la qualité de musique est là. La réduction du bruit est très bien, vachement mieux que certains écouteurs que j’ai eu aux oreilles. Le fait que les écouteurs se rechargent en les rangeant dans le boitier est vraiment très bien, ça permet de faire du 2 en 1 sans avoir à les traîner dans tous les sens. L’autonomie est excellente. Elles tiennent très très bien aux oreilles (je les utilise également lors de mes séances de footing donc ça secoue pas mal) Pour le volume, on pourra le régler seulement via le portable et non sur les écouteurs (sauf erreur de ma part car j’ai vraiment cherché en long et en large comment augmenter le volume via les écouteurs). J’aurai aimé qu’il puisse être un peu plus fort car j’adore écouter la musique très fort, malgré tout, le volume reste très très bien. Côté appel, le son perçu est excellent ainsi que le son émit qui est très clair, pas de bruits parasites ou autres. En général, le son est vraiment très très bon. Un peu plus chagriné sur le boitier, la fermeture à l'air un peu fragile bien qu'elle n'aie pas fait défaut à ce jour.

Sol republic always have great presentation of their products and good quality BUT l find this in ear phones quite uncomfortable. They are too large. It takes time to fit them in and still don't sit right...

A 80 euro ci può stare, sono un prodotto eccellente, ovviamente non aspettatevi la qualità del suono delle cuffie a filo di fascia medio alta(sono sempre cuffie bluetooth). Testate in una chiamata dalla durata di 1 ora e 50 minuti, sembra di non averle addosso.(occhio alla dimensione del vostro orecchio, sono abbastanza grandi). Comandi touch non proprio reattivissimi...

I've been a fan of Sol Republic for a while. I found this discontinued model here on Amazon at a great price. Couldn't pass. Box was factory seal and in mint condition. They sound great and noise cancelling is pretty good for an older model. Sound is great!!! Battery life good!!!
