Mepps plain treble Aglias in size #0 (1/12 oz.) are perfect for panfish (bluegills or sunfish) and small stream trout. They are very light however and require a nimble rod equipped with a light action reel spooled with light line; nothing heavier than six-pound-test. Two-pound-test to four-pound-test is better. Aglias in size #1 and #2 (1/8 and 1/6 oz.) are perfect for larger stream trout and large bluegills sunfish and crappies. Size #3 (1/4 oz.) Aglias are also excellent for smallmouth bass and walleye. These sizes are ideal for teaching youngsters the basics of spinner fishing as they are heavy enough to cast well with light tackle yet they are small enough to catch a wide variety of fish. Nothing Better than this Classic Lure
I have been using this lure for over 50 years. The design has not changed and it is still my lure of choice for trout. Built very well as it takes a beating being dragged across rocks through the rapids. I prefer the silver during a sunny day and a gold when overcast. This lure is a must have for a trout fisherman's creel or tacklebox.

Time to get new ones
I have been freshwater fishing with these for a very long time. So long in fact, that my hooks were rusted and breaking off. I ordered this one just to fullfill the $35 dollar order for free shipping from Amazon. But, my first trip out and BAM! caught my first bass. Then caught two smallmouth bass and 20 bluegill. This is an all-around great spinner bait for freshwater fishing. I will be buying a lot more of these on Amazon as I imagine I will be losing some along the way to underwater weeds, and they are less expensive on Amazon than at my local sporting goods/fishing stores. Arrived on time and in perfect condition (in it's own box).

Had very good luck on the Juniata as a kid with this lure. Smallmouth and muskys just loved it. Hopefully their taste has not changed in the 40 years since I have been gone.
