Very slim fit!
I bought this so I could keep microSD cards in my laptop, as it only had an SD reader. Most of the SD card would stick out, so I needed a low profile adapter to be able to keep cards in without worrying about them breaking off in a bag or something. This adapter does the job. I'm using it in a Lenovo Flex 5 (Ryzen 4000) and the adapter sticks out about 2mm, which is actually good because it's just enough to get my fingernail into the grip to pull it out. The adapter is not spring-loaded, so if it fit flush it would never have come back out! As you can see in the picture, 2mm is not enough where I'm worried about it ever catching on something and breaking, nor is it ugly to look at, so I'm quite satisfied. I've had no issues running this for a couple of months now, in a Windows 10 x64 machine, using both a 64GB and 256GB card. Speed seems good, getting 90/60 on both, so nothing bad to report there either. Make sure the dimensions are right for your use case, and if they are, I recommend it!

Cheaper than others, seems to work just as well.
I read some reviews on this product by people who used it in a MacBook Pro 13” before I bought it. This adapter is almost half the price of any of the small (Pi or 13” MBP) SD card adapters. Even though it's for the pi it works just fine in my 13 inch MBP. It fits very snug, and since I'm basically using it for extra storage that works out just great for me."Set it and forget it". The adapter is not completely flush but sticks out less than 1mm, which is also good because that makes it easier to remove if needed. Works as it should and much cheaper than the alternatives highly recommended.FYI (Base Qi’s adapter specifically for 13”, is metal and plastic, this one is all plastic but again,it costs much less.

Perfect for my Lenovo 330S Laptop and 256GB Samsung Evo Select
I bought a Lenovo - 330S-15ARR 15.6" Laptop (Model: 81FB006AUS) which only comes with 128GB SSD drive (only 93GB available), and the space started to run out as soon as I started installing programs. So I needed to expend my space with external memory without carrying around a clunky external SSD drive. So an SD card was perfect for me, but the standard SD-card adapter for micro-SD cards extends to more than 2/3rd out of the SD card slot of this particular computer given how shallow the slot is, and it could easily snap in half with any small wrong moves. So this adapter was perfect for me. As you can see from the picture below, it fits just right, with enough sticking out for me to easily remove the card with my fingernails alone. I'm using a 256GB Samsung EVO Select Micro-SD, which has a bigger space than my internal drive. I have transferred 1GB of data (at once) to my SD card with it, with no issues.

Cheaply made and did not work
I got this for my 2021 M1 Macbook Pro 14". First of all, the adapter did not work. I put a Samsung 128gb microSD card (that I know works when using the full-size Samsung adapter) into this BASEQI adapter and the Macbook failed to recognize it. Tried a couple of other microSD cards and they did not work either. Clearly, the one I got was defective. On fit, this BASEQI adapter is about half the size of a full-size SD card. It does sit perfectly flush inside the SD card slot of my MBP, but the fit was very tight. I had to apply some force to get it into the slot and later it was very difficult to remove from the slot. On my first attempt, I dug my nail into the SD card slot opening to grab the groove on the end of the adapter. With some effort the adapter came out. The second time, I could not get it out and cracked my nail. So then I used the small flat screwdriver head on my Swiss Army Knife Classic (the small one that fits on keychains). It came out pretty easy using that but this deformed the groove enough that I can tell that, with repeated use, the groove will wear out and you will wind having the adapter stuck inside your laptop. This adapter is probably a fifth of a millimeter too wide or thick than it ought to be. In any case, the adapter did not work, did not fit easily into the SD card slot of my laptop and is made from very cheap plastic. Returned.

Yes, size does matter
In short, all of these micro-sd adapters do the exact same thing. It doesn't matter what computer it goes in. They can say it's for the Pi, MAC, Asus, or whatever, it's all about the size. BaseQi just loves to give their sizes in point inches. For this purpose, metric would be a more accurate measure. I actually purchased a digital caliper so I could easily convert and understand the actual sizes because I was shopping for something to fit my Lenovo Flex 11. The pictures are of the Flex 11 to give you an idea of fit. This Pi version wasn't exactly a good fit but it was better than having anything stick out to catch on something. For the price, it was a better decision. The fancy aluminum ones were just too pricey. The pictures are of a standard adapter, a cheapy short one that kind of works but still stuck out too far, and this Pi version. If you are intending to put in a SD card and leave it in semi-permanently (like I am), then that's one thing but if you want to easily remove it, the tab really helps. What you see is nothing more than a square cut from a post-it note. Works great. If you look closely, I already have scuffed up this adapter by wedging something in to pry it out. For the record, BaseQi FBA_iSDA504ASV probably would have been the perfect fit for the Flex 11. But at $25, I'll stick with what I have.

Compact solution
It's great! It's thin and only sticks out 2 mm from my Lenovo Yoga 16" laptop (less than any USB stick, even the short ones), doesn't take up a USB port, and allowed me to add 1TB with a low profile - I keep inserted in all the time. The micro SD card I bought to put in it also has a faster write speed than the fastest USB stick, so it was worth the cost to me. :o) (The one star off was for the price - worth it, but $15 is more expensive than it shoud be in my opinion). If you want something that sticks out the least from your computer, get it!

For those with a zenbook pro ux501
I bought this for my Asus zenbook pro (ux501jw) it's pretty much a perfect fit but it sticks out just a millimeter or two which is fine with me because it lets you pull it out easier (if you ever need too.)

Perfect fit for Lenovo 320S
The Lenovo 320S laptop has a very shallow SD slot so the SD card sticks out the side. This adaptor lets you keep a microSD card permanently in the laptop, increasing the storage capacity. No other adaptors I've tried fit as well as this one does. It sticks out a tiny amount, approx 0.5mm, just enough to be able to pull it out with your fingernail. Perfect for the job.
