I had trouble affixing the horizontal bar on the back. I did the first one for my daughter (5 years old), did a second one for me, and I had originally planned to affix the third one to have it ready as a spare, but at that point my fingertips were numb so I gave up. My daughter and I have thick 3A hair. (We are white.) Her hair is always tangled because she loves to play and lately wants to sleep without a braid or bonnet, so morning brushings can get difficult. I use a detangling spray and spray regular tap water to loosen the curls. There was a bit of a learning curve to this brush. Instead of holding it horizontally and brushing down, I found that holding it vertically (perpendicular to the floor, if that makes sense) and brushing with the curved tips at the top worked well for detangling. There were still OUCHIES. I want to make that clear. I was hoping that this was going to not hurt at all as it detangled, but it still does. However, it seems to be a little less OUCHY than the Wet brush. I am still going to keep it and become better at using it for two main reasons. 1. It is SO EASY to clean. SO EASY. I hated struggling to clean the Wet brushes. But this one is easy to pull the hair off the brush, and then run it under water to rinse off residues like leave-in conditioner, and that fuzzy dusty stuff that's always left over in our brushes. 2. For me, it works well in the shower because it dries so quickly and easily. I use the brush to comb conditioner through my hair. On my hair, I was able to use the brush horizontally and vertically. Anyway, this is a bit different than regular brushes, and I am still learning how to use it. Eventually, maybe I will get a top name brand, but for now, while I am getting the hang of it, this is it. Great deal for the price. I want to say that I am using this on white 3A curls, so I cannot speak to how it might work on (as they named the product) "Afro America/African Hair" whom they are trying to sell to.

Love these!! So do my clients! Great for detangling after a shampoo! So sturdy that I actually use it for blow drying my clients also!

I absolutely love this 3 Pack Hair Detangler Brush! The brush glides effortlessly through my hair. I have thick, curly 4C hair. It works great on both wet and dry hair, and I’ve noticed less shedding and tangling since using it. The brushes are sturdy yet gentle, and they really help exfoliate my scalp, leaving my hair looking smoother and healthier. This set is a fantastic value and makes detangling so much easier.
