Does it release 5 mg each layer? or 2.5 per layer?

The term "sustained release" refers to the product's releasing of ingredients gradually, over a period of 6 to 8 hours, in order to produce a sustained effect.

I have problems swallowing some tablets. How big are these?

Hello, I use the Melatonin fast dissolve for my mom. The same size tablet is strawberry flavor, and is placed under the tongue. They dissolve very quickly, thus enters your system much sooner than the standard pill. The fast dissolve are made in 1, 3, 5 and 10 mg. Also, Melatonin is made as gummies. When my grand kids are super hyper & restless, their mom who is a doctor, gives them a low dose gummie. They sleep all night, and are so much more refreshed in the morning. But fast dissolve would be my recommendation for adults; if you don’t do well swallowing pills.

How big are these tabs? I had gastric bypass and can't take meds larger than a hole punch.

Somewhat bigger than a hole punch. Might I suggest liquid melatonin.
