Quite frankly, these mugs exceeded my expectations. At this price, I thought for sure they’d resemble the photos which is really all I wanted as it was more for show when entertaining guests who drink coffee/tea/cocoa. I don’t drink hot drinks. Go figure. When I say they are simply gorgeous, I mean it!!! So much so, I have started drinking hot tea just so I can hold them in my hands. I ended up buying the matching saucers, the matching espresso cups with saucers because at that price this must surely be a mistake that will eventually be corrected and it would cost me more to get them later. I ended up buying the long golden spoons that are sold on here because they matched perfectly and make my set look even more luxurious.I also bought a second set to keep for Christmas as I know exactly who else will love them and their gift is ready!!! The mugs are incredibly shiny, the metallic paint looks like it will last forever and so far no peeling off. The weight is just right. Not heavy at all but not so light to make them feel cheap. They feel like luxury. The label says to only wash by hand which makes sense. And they’re so beautiful that they even make my countertop look great while they dry in the dry rack. The size is just right. Not just for the contents, but the actual ear on the mug is spacious enough for bigger hands like mine. Obviously that’s something people with average size hands never think about. But it’s a nice fit. The material feels like fine chinaware. I don’t know if it’s actual porcelain, but it sure feels like it. I’m impressed by the paint and whatever glaze they use to keep these so shiny and sleek. The designs are all so creative. I don’t have a favorite one because it’s hard to decide which one I like best. So, I switch mugs every time just to enjoy how pretty they look in my hands. Best decision I’ve made in quite some time. I lucked out. More times than not, the low-priced items that have nice pictures on them on Amazon end up being cheap look a-likes for other more expensive items. That is not the case here. You will not regret getting these. As for temperature retention, they are not made with a material that would purposely keep a drink hot. But that’s not what this is for. I don’t believe these can be used in a mug warmer but who knows. I just don’t want to test it out. Like I said, I don’t really drink hot drink drinks so, these work like all other ceramic mugs work. I think these are so versatile they could work for decorations, keepsakes, and even making a serving of ice cream, hot cocoa with whipped cream, or a cup of oatmeal look like it was served in a fine restaurant. I recently shared an idea with a girlfriend who is throwing a bridal shower for our friend. These would be a classy keepsake to be filled with a few cute candies or other mementos for her guests. Minor kept inside a cupboard, but I’m thinking about finding a nice mountable rack so I can display them in my kitchen. It would make a great decoration. The pictures don’t do it any justice. Bought for a family member but realized they weren’t microwave proof. But still wonderful design

I found the plates and cups to be very beautiful. However, the only concern is that they are not microwave safe, as they become extremely hot when placed in the microwave.

The cups are beautiful! Their presence enhances any table or room. However, they are not for the microwave.

Beautiful , this is my second set after 3 years , I am gifting to my daughter in law, looks very expensive same shine not faded.
