Can it be used on exterir foam board?

This stuff is worthless junk. I wouldn't use it on anything. Very poor coverage.

will it stick to aluminum sheet metal?

Yes, it will. But if it eventually gets wet....it will dissolve and drip (unless you cover it with paint). The oil-based version (RED label) would stick much better. Note: In regards to the oil-based version, when it dries, it is very difficult to remove from places where you didn't want it to go. So, you must take more time to prepare the work area.

Can this spray to the ceiling? Will the stuff still come out when can is horizontal?

Yes, you can spray on ceilings. Regardless if you spray on walls or ceiling you must shake the can vigorously throughout use. Make certain the bb inside the can rolls freely so you can hear it when you are shaking it. I like the ability to change from fine to heavy.
