Koi: A Complete Guide to their Care and Color Varieties

This book is awesome. Tons of great information on all aspects of koi keeping (pond setup and maintenance, safe handling methods and equipment, shipping methods, health, feeding, varieties, etc. I was really surprised first flipping through this book as I didn’t expect anywhere close to the high quality photos (even including microscopic images of various parasites and protozoans for proper identification). There is SO MUCH in this book and it’s so well organized that it’s not only great for beginners but a good reference guide for more experienced keepers as well. And a great low price for the quality and comprehensive information covered in this book.

Bought this book thinking it would be useful in identifying different types of Koi, so much more than that. Covers so much information about health and general Koi keeping. Very valuable book.

EXCELLENT vook on Koi!! Really helped us to care for our Koi

This is a nice reference book that details a bit about water quality, filtration, how to build a pond (just one type though), and lots of color variation of koi. I was severely let down by the lack of detail about different type of koi like butterfly - it is almost like the authors turned their collective noses at butterfly which is really quite sad. Other than that, this is a fairly good overall reference.

I really wanted to understand what it takes to care for my Koi, including understanding their biology and physiology. This book contains all the information I needed to really understand the fish in my care. I didn't buy if for a while because I thought it was all about coloration. It has a lot of information in that regard, but the information on their care seems to be very complete.

I was looking for an all-in-one book on Koi and this is exactly what I found in this book. The thing I really enjoyed about the book was not only the information but that the design made it more enjoyable to read with great pictures and layouts (i.e. - not like a textbook or encyclopedia). Would highly recommend.

This book has it all. 256 pages divided in to two parts,the first part is all about the cares for the Koi from water quality, filtration, pond designs, feeding, breeding, diseases and buying. Part two is about all the types of Koi fish. Great printing quality and very beautiful colored photos and illustrations. In my opinion every penny worth it.

I really bought this book for the pictures, no side on shots, plenty of top angle shots of all the fat happy colourful koi. Now I can stare at fat carp all day so I am happy.

Il libro varrebbe la pena, ma per chi come me non sa l’inglese diventa difficile trarne un beneficio.. ho provato a tradurre qualcosa ma poi mi sono stancata… peccato perché poteva aiutarmi con le mie koi.
