Foundations of Restoration Ecology advances the science behind the practice of restoring ecosystems while exploring ways in which restoration ecology can inform basic ecological questions. It provides the first comprehensive overview of the theoretical foundations of restoration ecology, and is a must-have volume for anyone involved in restoration research, teaching, or practice. Not the correct book in the image!
Great book, however the image on amazon shows the second edition when this is actually 1st addition. Be careful to order the correct one and check the title on the page (Not in the image!). The first and second edition are very different.

Easy to read
Good book to know about the fundamentals of restoration ecology. But case studies seemed little obsolete.

Boring
This book consists of number of articles on ecology and restoration of plants. Don't but it unless you need it for school or research. It's boring!

Good reference text
I also bought this book as a required reading for a graduate class in restoration ecology. Prior to taking this class I had little background in restoration work; however, the book is very detailed and presents the material in a manner that is not difficult to understand (esp for someone who has little knowledge in restoration work--although you must have a good ecology base). Overall a good reference to have, especially if you are interested in this field.

Great Foundation
This book was a required text for a graduate level course I took in Ecological Restoration. It provides a comprehensive overview of ecological theories that should be considered as a context for restoration design. The topics covered range in scale from landscape and population ecology to plant genetics. It is a valuable resource to all who are interested in ecological restoration.
