Does the roll out trundle pop upto height of bed.

No it does not, the trundle just rolls out, It is a beautiful piece of furniture,however there is no handle or a knob to pull out the trundle,you have to struggle with it a bit.

Does the daybed come with a mattress? If not,what size mattress does it support?

It does not come with mattresses. The top portion could support any height twin but the mattress that goes in the trundle can support up to a 7" high mattress. The length and width of both are just standard twin size, which is 74"x38"

Does the wood look shiny like in the bottom picture shown or more of a matte finish like in the upper picture?

It is a little shiny. Not wet looking but not a total matte finish
