Does this work with dry food?

Hi There. Yes. It works with wet, dry, raw and liquid foods and treats. You can use Casper or Felix (and other LickiMats) with dry food. You need to match the kibble size and the surface structure of the mat (smaller is better). Cats will use their tongue to lick and extract the food from the deeper pockets of a Casper and simply pick up the food from the other sections. LickiMats will help slow down their feeding and provide them with enrichment. If you have a kitten, start with a Felix as it is easier for them. Casper is best for adult cats. Smash a sardine on the Felix or spread a gel treat for more licking fun.

Will this slow my cat down from eating so much? She eats so fast shes gaining weight as fast as she eats, then throws up her food..

Yes, I think this mat might help. You need to make sure to spread the wet cat food across the whole mat. Not too thin (too difficult for kitty to eat) or too thick (too easy to eat). You’ll have to experiment and see how she does. Also, check the patterns of each mat — some have smaller surface designs (harder). Hope this helps.

Does it grip to floor?Suction to floor?

The LickiMat Casper is designed to fit flat on the floor without the need for suction cups because it is made from rubber and not silicone (most if not all silicone products need suction cups and won't work unless the floor is smooth, flat and clean).

Can the Felix pattern be used for a small dog (5 lbs)?

I would think any small dog or cat could use these just fine. The Felix version has very small spaces, and requires a lot of work to lick the food out. If that’s what you’re looking for, this should be very good! If your pup needs slightly larger spaces to make it just a bit easier, I’d recommend the Casper version.
