Does this ball bounce for playing fetch?

It does bounce but not like a tennis ball would bounce. I can't recommend this enough. I have a silver Labrador Retriever and she has a very powerful bite. And this toy is great for throwing and chasing and fetching. It hasn't flaked or had bits come off even when she is clamped on it.

How big is the "ball"? Is it 3" or larger?

The outer diameter is 4.5 inches and the circumference is about 16 inches. Our Boxer and Italian Mastiff love this toy and they can't chew through it. Great buy!

Does it have a strong car tire rubber smell? My dog won’t play with toys that smell like that

I don’t think it smells like the tire smell but it does have a rubber smell. My dogs didn’t like the tire either but love this one.

Is the inside of this toy big enough to pop another ball inside? Maybe a small tennis or kong ball?

I doubt you will be able to put anything in the ball with a diameter of more than one to 1 1/2 inches. I will say that this is one of the very few toys that my golden doodle has not destroyed within the first 12 hours. The Kong toys don’t make it. The vet said get the toys that are black rubber. Sure enough…
