Bought mine in 2023 and this week, the sticky silicone mount pad finally melted and oozed down my dashboard like another reviewer reported. Had some Clorox wipes on hand and those cleaned off the gunk fairly easily, but I’m glad I caught it before it oozed down further into any part of the instrument panel and pain-in-the-ass to clean crevices. To be fair, since first installing it,I’ve left it in direct sunlight for hours and it’s gone thru the full range of temperatures from high desert heat to snow conditions outside. It was fully stable and perfect to maneuver exactly however I wanted to position it. The holder structure itself is totally fine and in perfect shape so I really just need to replace the mounting pad.

I've been hands-free for my phone since before it was legally required and finding a durable, adjustable phone mount is challenging. My last holder I'd had for 7-8 years until the spring grip finally broke. After lots of searching I came across the Humixx holder. After a few months of use, I came back and bought this upgraded version to put in our other car. It has a lot more adjustment positions than my old holder which is a great feature and makes it easy to find the right viewing location regardless of driver. Lots of folks don't seem to understand that the heat of a car's interior in summer, even with a sun shade up, gets too hot for even the best suction cup mounts to stay in place after a couple of hours. The key factor is to be able to rinse the suction cup and reapply it to your dash, which the Humixx offers. Certainly allowing a few hours, especially for that first install, for the suction cup to "bond" with your dash is key. I do find that the longer the arm is extended forward or positioned high up there is some vibration of the phone in the mount on some road surfaces. The split bottom allows me to plug my lightning cable in to charge the device while in use. Our iPhones are in cases and the arms are able to grip the device securely. As far as the depth of the phone with case, the bottom foot could be a bit wider for wallet style cases but it just fits. Overall, would recommend, and obviously would purchase again.

The suction cup did not adhere directly to the pebbled vinyl of my 2019 RAV4 dashboard (even after cleaning it with rubbing alcohol). This did not surprise me. Kit comes with an adhesive disk. Instructions are to wipe auto surface with alcohol (no wipes are provided), let it dry, apply adhesive disk, press hard, wait 24 hours, then use phone holder suction cup to attach to disk. I followed those instructions (first cleaning with rubbing alcohol on a tissue) to adhere the disk to the pebbled vinyl of my 2019 RAV4 dashboard. When I attached the phone holder to the disk on the next day, the disk came loose from the vinyl in less than one minute. This was in summer with daytime 80 degree F weather. Kit also includes a device to clamp the phone holder to a fin in an air vent. So far, this seems to work well in my 2019 RAV4. It does not obstruct critical controls, but does prevent adjusting the air direction for the air vent that I used. The suction cup may adhere well to the inside of the windshield glass. I have not tried this yet since the air-fin mount seems to be OK.

Strong, well-made, excellent clear instructions. I particularly like its versatility in that it can be fitted to the car in three ways: suction to windscreen, suction to dashboard (with adhesive fitting if required) or fixed to air vent. I have used the last method and the mount seems to be very secure. (I can't therefore comment on its suction). Quick and easy to fit or remove mobile phone from it. It should fit virtually any mobile phone with its easily adjustable clamps - fine with my iPhone 6s. Would certainly recommend.
