This is a different version that the one I used to own. The pop out part is on the cap (push down and twist like medical pill bottle to release) and not at the base (pop out 4 holding grooves to release). This version technically has wireless charging compatible (more on this later). If you have a lot of the older version popsocket, know that the caps don’t work on the new version. Been using popsockets for at least half a decade now. Very functional with some minor inconveniences that I must work around, but overall worked well for me. What I love about is it that it provides better grip when holding the phone. Now if I use a phone without it in public, feels like anyone can snatch my phone off my hand at any second, or I’m afraid I may accidently slip off my hand and drop the floor Can get better reach with fingers while still providing grip on the phone if you carry a larger phone. Also great as tabletop/kicks stand when I need it. Tend to use it all the time when watching steaming videos while eating or on casual video calls. No need to bring additional stand accessory There are some official accessories for it that I use, but also made some DIY ones. For example, if you have magnet attachment phone mount, you can disassemble the popsocket and put the metal plate inside with tape, and make it attach to magnetic surfaces (This only works with older version and not this one) This version can wirelessly charge if you attach it on your phone directly with no case. But the charging speed is not as fast than without popsocket Adhesive works well on all phones case surfaces I currently own. Heard from a co-worker that it didn’t work for them when they used it on items with waterproof surfaces If you have accessories that holds the popsocket in place; I wouldn’t use the popsocket on them for at least 24 hours so it doesn’t peel itself off due to gravity during initial adhesion period. Extremely strong. Unless you intentionally use excessive force, it won’t fall off. Peeling the popsocket off can leave stains depending how long you had it on. With some cleaning tools can scrap it off without leaving much residue. Use hand sanitzer to take off the residue, better than using soup or just water. To take it off once it’s stuck on you must use fingernails (will not work if you have long nails) or a thin flat head screw driver around the circumference They are durable. Aside from paint wearing off overtime, the first one I own still works like it did day 1. I’m not rough with my popsocket or phones so may want to take that under consideration (?) -Cons of the popsocket can be worked around. It adds thickness. As thick or slightly thicker than your phone without a case, making it 2x thicker at one location. If you wear tight pants/jeans, there will get a budge, especially if you put it in your back pocket. Seeing the bulge is not uniform can wobble when typing on phone on a flat surface. If you stick the popsocket on the phone directly, may interfere with some of its functionality such as wireless charging (if you have the older version). That’s why I always opt to put it on a case. Never happened to me, but my co-worker said it get snatched onto things when trying to pull it out of her purse. Maybe she has way too many stuff in there, or the fact that I always carry my phone in my pocket or dedicated pocket in my backpack. Overall, despite the negatives I find it very useful for daily tasks.

This is the most cheaply made of the brand. It is flimsy and I had to re-glue the top back in and also the base pieces, which kept coming apart and which made the PopSocket unreliable. Now that I’ve rebuilt it, it works fine. I purchased an all-black one, which looks great with my patterned case.

I had bought a pop socket from walmart and it was amazing, i had it for YEARS. but i have since switched phones and i decided to buy this pop socket from amazon and after a year, i can feel the downhill of the quality. unlike other reviews, the adhesive is pretty strong. my issue is that the actual disk falls off with the slightest amount of pressure and twist. this started about a year after purchasing and i don’t understand. i put my phone in my pocket and pull it out and the disk has unlatched from the base. i have had the disk fallen and me frantically looking for it at least 3-4 times. it has begun to annoy me because the disk easily falls off. i’m annoyed because i had used their product for years and now this new one hasn’t even lasted me for half of that time. wasted $10 for crap.

I think this is a must have, even if you’re not on your phone all the time like me. I have a little arthritis in my hands, and this helps me hold my phone between different fingers without hurting my hand. The fit is perfect, and you can stick it anywhere on your phone, high or low. I put mine in the middle. The material is very sturdy, and the adhesive is super strong. I recommend checking exactly where you want it before sticking it on, because once it’s on, it’s not moving. I also like that it works as a phone stand when you’re watching a movie or video. Overall, it’s really helpful, easy to use, and worth it. I definitely recommend it.

I really like this pop socket for its functionality. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It collapses as it should and extends out for easy grip on the back of my phone. It’s also sturdy enough that I can use it as a stand to prop my phone up. I was slightly disappointed in the design as it is hard to see the floral design, unless you are right on top of it. This is a sticky pop socket, so it cannot be put on and removed like the magnetic ones. If you decide to use this item, please make sure that you are not intending to use your phone case as a MagSafe charger as you cannot use this pop socket and charge your phone via MagSafe or use any MagSafe car mounts at the same time.

These things seem to tear at the softer accordion part after about a year or so of regular, frequent, daily use. This is the third one I have had to buy. The interchangeable tops-even plain black- are more expensive than just buying a whole new full kit which seems really silly. Pro Tip (since I feel like a pro now, haha) if your top tears, use needle nose pliers to grasp the removable part of the base to twist it off and then you won't have to completely replace the part that is adhered down. Even with these troubles, I feel that the PopSocket brand is still the best choice for this type of grip. I just view it more of a consumable now than a permanent single buy fixture.

This is a very nice basic pop socket. I purchased this as a gift for someone who has essential tremors and limited grip strength due to a recent accident and was having difficulty holding their phone. Only had it a few days but he's very happy with it. Great products and seems to be holding well!

This solved my problem of using a big screen phone. Very reliable product. 👍
