Excellent glacier glasses
These glasses are polarized and have adequate shielding on the sides and the bridge to reduce reflective sun glare. Well made. A good purchase.

Now these are Sun glasses 😎
These are my first Julbo glasses. I'm a fan of this brand now. Superior lenses IMO. I can't use my other sunglasses now because they just don't filter that brightness as well as these. I will say the case I got was not the best design for these I think that these sunglasses deserve a better case. Not in material but in design. I bought a trifold case and seems they are better guarded there. Highly recommend them.

Great for glaciers
Tl;dr if you are actually going to use these where they were designed to be used, buy them. If you want them for style only, read my dislikes. Like: exactly as described. Super dark. Great for snow glare. Side light blocking works as intended. Looks fantastic. Huge attention grabber and icebreaker in Starbucks haha. They fit fine and I have a wide head. The ear loops work well when you're running/jumping about. Dislike: every day wear is not too great if you keep the leather on. Does not fit while wearing a full faced helmet. I would never wear these while driving with the side shades on due to restricted vision. Also, walking down the sidewalk I have to take extra time to look for traffic because of this restricted vision. Also, walking around Los Angeles at sunset I can't see if anybody is approaching from the sides. Lessens awareness overall. Did not include a hard case for storage, just a soft sock.

Only lasted 6 months
First, I love these sunglasses. I switched to the Vermont from Julbo's Sherpa line. They are very stylish--I constantly get compliments on them--and they are also comfortable. However, this month (January), the right ear hook broke within the rubber sleeve. They are still functional, because the sleeve holds it together, but it's painful to look at the ear hook bending in an odd direction, like a small pet with a broken appendage. For the cost, I expected these to be more durable. I use them almost daily; even so, six months is far too short a time for their price. I will probably return to the Sherpa line, because they're less than half the price, and last far longer. Shame, because these wonderfully complimented my facial hair. UPDATE Aug 2021: Actually, I didn't return to my Sherpas back in 2019. I kept wearing these, and they continued to be quite functional. Recently, though, the rubber sheath covering the ear wires split open, allowing the wire end to poke through if it fiddle with them at all. This is likely the real end for these sunglasses, because I don't want to go around with scotch tape on my sunglasses. With the minor wear/breakage, they lasted through more than 2 years of almost daily use. That drove their price/value ratio up considerably for me. I'll be buying another pair. They're just too great to be without. :)

Worth it!
Great glasses. Fit and look awesome. Besides some individuals thinking you are steam punking it, lots of compliments. The only thing I have noticed is a slight partial halo in the lower outside portion of the lens, but only in the shade, completely not there in direct light. I enjoy because my eyes actually relax when in the sun. Downside is when driving, your peripheral vision is not available, you really have to turn your head.

Absolutely needs breaking in.
Bought a pair and I have used them for a bit. First, these absolutely need breaking in. When I first put them on, I immediately started to get a pressure headache near the base of my neck, and after doing some experimenting (making sure it wasn't the crazy Michigan winter or something in the air), realized it was the wrap around earpieces that keep the glasses secure to your head. They put a small amount of pressure that I guess blocks off a nerve/vein, and that causes a pressure pain the in base of the skull. To remedy this, I've had them wrapped around a beer bottle for a couple of days to loosen the ear loop grip. They'll still be secure due to the wrapping design, but hopefully less pressure on the back of the ear lobes. Second, these are not comfortable. The leather side shields are what rest on your face, versus traditional glasses which rest on the bridge of your nose, and as such, it isn't comfortable, since it's leather on your cheeks. For the glasses to perform as design, you need to really place them relatively tight on your face, so they block sunlight from the sides and above, but that just digs in the leather to your face. It'll soften over time as they are leather, but you are using your face to break in leather. The leather on the bridge doesn't bother me at all since the glasses don't rest on the bridge. Also, under no circumstances should you use these to drive. These are absolutely terrible for driving as they remove all peripheral vision. Unless you're driving a long straight empty road, these are dangerous as you have to actively rotate your head almost a full 90 to see left and right. Taking all that into account, I think these will eventually be perfect for hiking and the such as they are quite effective at cutting down on sunlight and they really block sunlight from the sides. I got them because I thought they looked cool, and they do, they have that old world expedition look to them, and being made in France for the price is quite remarkable. Also, replacement parts direct from Julbo are really reasonable, $4 for a new nose leather, $40 for different lenses, etc., these are great if you need to fix them yourself. Just like a pair on hiking boots, you need to break them in before you take them on a long adventure. Doing so will make them work well. Failing to break them in and I can see how these would be subpar.

Crystal clear, excellent vision, sturdy, old school retro cool.
Okay, I wear a 7 3/8 hat so the temples were tight, I've bent them out a bit and it's better. The ends of the temples where they wrap about the ear dig in at the end, so I bent them back a little and they're more comfortable now. The ones I had back in the early 80s before "steam punk" was a thing were gradient top and bottom to middle, meaning basically as dark as these are in the middle but darker towards the bright sky, and also towards the bright snow covered ground. Which I never went to, but they were still cool as heck. Unless you have to remove the side blinders, don't. It's a feat to get them and the lens in the exact right place and keep them there while reaching for a screwdriver! It can be done, but do not do it in front of children, nuns, the Pope, or your first grade teacher. 5 stars overall because they're excellent, 4 stars for comfort out of the box, but they are easily adjusted for cranial aberrations (big headed folks), 5 stars for value for the money, and I didn't put any starts for durability because I've only had them a day. But they are well made and sturdy. I think they will be just fine.

A retro headspinner that turns the world into HD
I wear these out on colder hikes such as winter expeditions in New Hampshire and hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Every time I wear them people are always asking me where I got them so that they can snag a pair because they're vintage look just never gets old. But aside from being a compliment-magnet, these are genuinely amazing lenses that put many sunglasses to shame with how clear and HD they feel. The side blockers are great for my very sensitive blue eyes. My only complaint is that after a while, they begin to feel uncomfortable behind the ear. I was hoping that the arms could be bent and morphed a little easier to fit my ear but alas every now and then I notice it putting pressure on the backside of my right ear. The nose bridge can also get heavy ever so slightly after a long period of wearing them, but nevertheless I still love these glasses.

Gafas según descripción. Funda mal.
