Works perfect. Hook any sata hard drive on one end, usbc on the other. You are good to go.

Only works for 2.5" drives
As noted in the title and specifically written in the instructions, this only works for 2.5" drives. It will not work for 3.5" (or larger) drives.

Pretty much works
Tested it with an old Samsung 840 PRO 128GB SSD and was pleased with the read speeds:$ pv < /dev/sdx > /dev/null119GiB 0:03:44 [ 543MiB/s]hdparm does seem to work and reports what you'd expect. It reports TRIM is supported, but I wasn't able to get blkdiscard to wrok:$ blkdiscard /dev/sdxblkdiscard: /dev/sdx: BLKDISCARD ioctl failed: Operation not supportedsysfs reports no discard (reading discard_max_bytes returns 0)This drive is old and busted so YMMV if using a newer disk.

Mine had a defective USB plug and is useless.
Defective. The USB plug did not work with the socket on our laptop which did work with other items.

Der Adapter ist sehr kompatibel, sowohl auf USB- wie auf SATA-Seite, habe keinerlei Merkwürdigkeiten an und mit vielen SSDs und Geräten bemerkt. 10 GBit werden tatsächlich unterstützt, man bekommt mit einer guten SSD etwa 100 Mbyte/s mehr als an den günstigen 5 GBit-Adaptern - das darf man für den Preis aber auch erwarten und wird nicht enttäuscht. Die Verarbeitung und gefühlte Stabilität sind einwandfrei. Sehr schön - verdiente 5 Sterne.

Comido y rápido pero algo caro
Solo vale para discos portátiles (de 2,5) ya que los de escritorio (3,5) necesitan de alimentación por separado, de resto perfecto. Cómodo y rápido.A lo mejor algo caro, pero es el precio a pagar por la novedad del USB-C.
