There is no child safety lock, though substance is fairly benign, best to store these out of reach of small children. First use is simply a matter of removing the inner top seal. The capsules themselves are usual size around 2 cm long. You can smell the Turmeric on opening, but has a fairly neutral taste, and easy to digest. Recommended dose is one or two tablets a day, therefore this Warrior product provides over a month or two of supply depending on chosen dose level.
