(NEW REVISED EDITION) Bay City Babylon tells the story of the unlikely pop phenomenon that was the Bay City Rollers--from their humble Scottish beginnings to worldwide fame and adulation, and what's happened to them since. It's a classic tale of rock stardom with all the trappings, excesses, anguish, and exhilaration that go with it. Featuring interviews with band members and those that were along for the "Rollermania" ride in the '70s. Plus, many never before published photographs and new "10th Anniversary" chapters that update the BCR story with details of their groundbreaking lawsuit for millions of dollars in unpaid record company royalties and their 2015 reunion. Review: Good read - The writer certainly did his research lots of interesting facts. Review: Pop stars leading wild lives under our noses - Well, to say the least, here was a VERY POPULAR band that was on TV almost every week they were visable, touring, recording, etc..and yet got little or no $$ for their trouble. At the bitter end, doing a children's saturday morning show, then after firing the lead singer and putting out two competent and EXCELLENT records that NO ONE at the time bought...a total shame!! Here, we get a lot of the story straight. enjoy!!

Enlightening and saddening
Great read. I knew the BCR had been stooged just hadn't realised by how many people. The book is a great lesson for all up and coming muso's and those in the business. I love music but I think alot of those involved in it need to get a soul. Thanks Wayne for enlightening us.

Band bio-by-numbers.
Band bio-by-numbers. An OK account of the events, but no insight, no real attempt to get past the most basic information. The tensions in the band are referred to as are the changes in the band, but on the most superficial level. The sudden drop in popularity goes without examination. Unsatisfying, although in places gets close. I enjoyed it, but was left wanting more from those closest to the action.

The Big BCR Picture
What sets this Bay City Rollers book apart from the others (autobiography from an individual band member and a single fan's accounting of her obsession with them) is the big picture approach that the author takes. There simply is no more complete biography of this band in existence. Culled from interviews with just about everyone that was a part of The Rollers story in the 70's and 80's. Helping Coy tell the story are.... Band Members: (Nobby Clark, Les McKeown, Derek Longmuir, Stuart Wood, Duncan Faure, Davy Paton, Pat McGlynn, Ian Mitchell, Alan Longmuir, Eric Faulkner) Managers (Tam Paton, Andy Trueman, Jake Duncan) Producers/Engineers/Songwriters (Bill Martin, Phil Wainman, Muff Winwood, Jimmy Ienner, Colin Frechter, Harry Maslin, Jonathan King, Stephan Galfas, Harvey Shield, Phil Coulter) Record Company Executives (Clive Davis, Dick Leahy, Tony Calder) Promoters/PR/Radio/TV: (Mike Klenfner, Carol Strauss, Emperor Rosko, Marty Krofft, Sid Bernstein, David Stein, Dave "The Duke" Sholin) And MANY More. If you want the complete and unbiased BCR story, be sure to read "Bay City Babylon."

This was a pretty enjoyable book
This was a pretty enjoyable book. The part about the early years was informative. I knew about Nobby Clark, but not many of the details of the comings and goings of so many people in the early 70's. I also had no idea how much Eric and Les were at each others' throats in the end. Their money problems at the hands of various people had been publicized but not as in-depth as in this book. I figured they were not nearly as squeaky clean as they were portrayed, but I was a bit surprised about the drug part. I knew they drank and some smoked, because I saw Eric and Les smoking before. I read the book in one day. Overall a very interesting book.

Rocking and Rolling with the Bay City Rollers
The book was about my favorite band who made that time a grate time of my life. Just to see them on tv and how they looked smile at the camera while singing or playing their instruments. I would recommend this book to my friend Merly. We went to see the Rollers at MaCormick Inn ,in Chicago IL .I love the story on the Rollers I feel sad at the things that happened to all of them. My heart goes out to them I hope their lives are good and they are in good health. A Roller fan for life Cecelia Carlson

Great read
Must for rollers fans - tells alot of the story of the rise and demise and what happened to this boy band
****
Don't buy the Kindle version - it is a formatting disaster.
The formatting made this book almost unreadable on my Kindle devices. BCR have an interesting story so I decided to muddle my way through the book rather than return it. 1 Star for readability. 4 Stars for content. I will give it a reluctant 3 Stars

Interesting and Shocking!
This book is not unlike 'When the Screaming Stops' but there were some bits of information in it I didn't know and there are some photographs I'd not seen before. However the story is told though, it's shocking and sad how five human beings could be so exploited by the 'men in suits' who didn't care one bit about them, even being willing to risk their health for the sake of a fast buck. Those that are still alive should hang their heads in shame.

Bay City Babylon
The book was delivered in excellent condition and within a few days of ordering it , excellent service from Amazon. The book was very good an insight to the life of a boy band, probably one of the first boy bands that we know.

I found some it just speculation and not always to the good.
It was interesting to have a timeline of how things occurred with the rise of Rollermania, however, I found some it just speculation and not always to the good.
