It really helped to keep the mess contained when I used it for putting under my large living room rug and I did a deep clean on it with my carpet-cleaner. Even though it isnโt too thick, it is VERY sturdy, I had no issues with ripping or tearing (especially since my boyfriend was pretty rough with it). I plan on taking it with me on a camping trip in the near future and if I need to I will give an update on whether or not it helps withstand the elements of nature. But so far, no issues!
