Transformed my tired leather sofa in under 20 minutes — genuinely impressed
I’ll admit I was sceptical. My leather sofa had seen better days — dull, slightly dry, and losing that rich, supple look it had when I first bought it. I’d tried a couple of products before with mixed results, so I wasn’t expecting miracles from the Coconix Leather Balm. I was wrong. The application process is refreshingly straightforward. A small amount of balm goes a long way — I worked it in gently using the cloth provided, using small circular motions across each cushion and the armrests. No streaking, no greasy residue, no strong chemical smell. It absorbed beautifully into the leather, almost like watching it drink up moisture in real time. The whole sofa — a generous three-seater — was done and looking noticeably revived within 20 minutes flat. The colour looked deeper and more consistent, the surface felt soft and conditioned rather than stiff, and that slightly tired, neglected appearance had simply gone. My couch genuinely looked like it had had a spa day. What stands out most is how beginner-friendly this product is. You don’t need any special tools, prior experience, or a YouTube tutorial to get professional-looking results. It’s genuinely one of those rare products that does exactly what it says on the tin — or in this case, the tub. If your leather sofa is looking a little worse for wear and you want a fast, fuss-free fix that actually delivers, this is it. Already planning to pick up a second tub for my leather dining chairs. Would recommend without hesitation.

Pretty Amazed
I ended up buying both the the medium brown and the dark brown to mix the colors to a slightly lighter shade. Reason behind this is the sofas color is actually Mahogony brown which has a redish hue to it under the brown. I tested in less visible areas a day prior to doing the rest of the sectional and it didn’t rub off the next day so moved forward. This mixture was roughly 1/3 medium brown added to the full dark brown container to bring it about a shade lighter. In the end, I probably could have used the dark brown alone if I didn’t want to allow the red to show through This is a 11 year old RC Willey sectional. I had never thought about coloring it but it is at a point where I didn’t have much to lose if it didn’t look good so why not, right? Outside of fading the sofa is still in pretty good shape. I tried a couple of different application strategies starting with the microfiber cloth included which didn’t give me the result I wanted. I ended up using a medium nap microfiber paint roller that I light rolled in a y pattern and then ended up feathering with a soft bristle paint brush to remove/lighten material in areas that I wanted a little of the red to show through. I’m sure there were other ways to get the same results but in the end, I am pretty satisfied. I shouldn’t give 5 stars until I see how long it lasts but I have a new sofa where an old ugly one was sitting about an hour and a half ago so I can’t really complain. I still have a little product left and this is a pretty big sofa so for less than $40 I’d say it’s a pretty good deal. The before and after show where the most work areas were on the sofa (mostly the L and R facing arms and recliners). I had already colored the rest of the sofa when I decided to make a before and after since I was pretty amazed with the result and thought I should review. The back of the corner section is the original color. I too made the mistake others made and pulled drying product off in areas trying to go back over the section after too much time had lapsed without enough product in the roller. This would be like touching up a tacky wall with the roller. It’s a rookie mistake and not the products fault. Just have patience and let it dry completely (maybe 15 mins) before going over the same spot to touch up. The white towel is what I used to buff the sofa after using the included microfiber (damp) about an hour later to make sure any extra product was removed. I wiped the entire sofa down with the side shown in the photo. Very little residue came off. My overall opinion is that it’s a good product, little to no odor and easy to use. The only way to get better results would be to put the sofa outside and use 2 or 3 colors of spray colorant which is more in line with the way it was originally colored. This is a great fix and we’ll worth the try. Its not perfect (because I know where every little flaw is) but my wife and kids both say it looks like a new sofa now. I’m sitting in my sofa about 2 hours after completion and doesn’t stick to me any more than any other leather sofa would.

Used on a planner
I was given a leather planner from my mother about 25 years ago. She bought it in Italy, and it received some pretty good year before I put away in my office. A couple of years ago, I decided to try using it again (it was either use it, or throw it away) so I ordered calendar and content refills for the planner. I realized I enjoyed having my planner around again, but after a year I realized I should do something about its appearance. After years of being pulled out of my backpacks, first in college, then at my workplace, the brown leather was heavily scratched and otherwise worn. As a person who HATES to get rid of something (especially that is a quality leather) because its appearance is just a little lacking, I started looking at products that I thought could breathe some additional life into it. I settled on this product. As far as color, it was a pretty good match for my planner. I removed the inner contents of the planner and laid it flat on multiple layers of rags to protect the counter. I used the flimsy plastic glove included with this kit, as well as a microfiber cloth, to apply a small amount of this product to the planner. I was impressed with how well it covered. I had to work quite carefully around the edges because the inside of the planner is not the same color as the outside. I did make some mistakes and this product had immediately dyed any locations where I had over-spilled this product. I found that I used very little of the product in the container, so it was far too much for my specific use. The problem I had with this product is that it is a bit tacky. When taking the dried planner off of the fabric it was laying on, it definitely stuck to the fabric. When I then closed the planner, I noticed some of the places that we dyed on the spine "opened", almost like the product was cracking, to reveal undyed places again. That was also the case with the leather strap that closes the planner. Basically, anything place that could move showed this. In all, I am contented with this product. It served my purpose, but I would have a lot reservations on what this would do with other applications where the leather surface may move. I am not sure whether it would hold up on the cushions of a leather couch, for instance, but it may be find on the side or the back which are not trafficked surfaces.

Brought sofas back to life!
My 15 year old leather sofa definitely showed its wear and scratches, but this brought it back to life very easily and quickly. The first pic shows the condition of the sofa and in the bottom left of the cushion where we tested it on a small area. The second pic shows the overall condition of the 3 seat sofa. The loveseat was in a similar condition, but I only got an "after" pic (third one below). I recommend using a pair of disposable mechanic's latex gloves for a big job. One container was a little more than enough for my loveseat. Highly recommend.

Do no buy, this will damage your leather and make a mess everywhere
I wanted to try this product as it has a "100% satisfaction guarantee" and good reviews. We used it on a section of our couch that had lost its color due to constant contact with skin. We cleaned the area using a gentle cleaner and soft cloth. The area was properly cleaned and left to dry. We then added the Coconix balm which is a nasty mess. It stains everything, so wear gloves and throw away anything it touches. It is a thick paste, so we didn't need to use much to color the area. It looked nice, color restored and we felt we were done. We left it to dry several days. It looked good, but the area felt stiff, like a glue had been applied. When I sat down, the colored area stuck to my skin and color got on my skin. I then gently rubbed the area to check and the color came off. I used a soft cloth to try and remove any excess that may not have dried and all the color came off. And I mean all of it, not just the recoloring balm. The color was down to the base layer of the leather. Now it looks awful, see picture. I now have to have a professional recolor the area. I contacted COCONIX and was told their guarantee is only for a limited time and all they would do is send another kit. I should sue them for damage instead. This stuff is garbage, use at your own risk.

Absolutely impressed
I was in a time crunch, and I would not have received the product from my usual go-to Leather and vinyl paint supplier so I was scrambling to find a quick but high-quality. I don’t know what my hesitation was and purchasing the Covonix recoloring balm, but after comparing several products, it’s the one I chose and I’m extremely glad I did. I thought the product would be thick and sticky like a different brand I had previously purchased on Amazon. This texture is very creamy and goes on very smoothly. It is extremely easy to apply and it gives you excellent results. I did have to put several coats, but even the first coat gives you a lot of coverage. I don’t know what it will look like in the other colors, but I purchased it in the black and I am extremely satisfied with the results. Here are some pictures of the chair. I am repainting in progress. I will still do one more coat. I also like that it bugs toy semigloss type of finish just by buffing.

Very happy with this.
Excellent product. I used it on my old faux black sofa. I was a bit hesitant but as soon as I started I could see the difference. It really does smooth out scratches and worn areas. I cannot recommend this enough. Easy to apply, quick to dry, brings the original colour back to life. I'm very impressed. One tin has done both my sofas so yes, value for money too.

Truly Works!
This is the best product on the market. I had little faith from past experiences, but glad I tried this one. It made my cough look like new. Tip: let the product cure for 2-3 days before any contact with water.
