No. The shampoo and conditioner moisturized the hair.

How does this compare to a purple shampoo and conditioner?

I never used the purple shampoo. However, I am truly satisfied with the blond shampoo and conditioner. My blond no longer gets brassy or dull. It stays light and beautiful till I see my stylist. It does well conditioning and no stripping. Hope this helps!
