It won't hold it, the tape is better for flat surfaces. If you try to hold a cable with it, the tape won't work because of the cable's round surface, on top of that you add the pressure the cable makes on the tape and it will make the tape to fall off because it's not getting enough grip. it is still an awesome tape. For cables under the desk or computer table I recommend self-adhesive cable clips. Use a cable clip for each cable.
