This book is fantastic, as it contains a lot of good advice for ESL students to overcome any fears of speaking English. I am an ESL teacher, and I would also highly recommend this book to other teachers in the field. This book has some great insight that can help teachers significantly improve their pedagogies. Teachers are often so focused on methods of teaching and the structure of the English language, that they forget or aren't aware of the most important aspect of teaching, which is creating a comfortable and positive learning environment for students, and helping them overcome their fears of speaking. Hoge is right- learning a language should be fun and not a chore. This book really puts the teaching and learning of English back into perspective.

I bought this book for a relative, and he really enjoyed it. He found it easy to read and understand, and it motivated him to keep learning. He later switched to the audiobook version and even started following AJ Hoge’s podcast on Spotify. It’s a great resource for English learners.

Enfin une méthode d'apprentissage de langue étrangère qui fonctionne. Comme beaucoup de personne j'ai étudié la langue anglaise au collège...mais sans succès. En appliquant les bases de ce livre vous comprendrez enfin la langue anglaise sans vous embarrasser de la grammaire.... Le livre est écrit en anglais, mais est facile à comprendre.
