Wait 60 seconds for all teeth. I do uppers and wait for gel to dry - then do lowers and wait for gel. Be sure teeth are dry when you apply and hold your mouth open in a smile for the 60 seconds each time.

What happens if it lands on gums or lips?

You really can't keep from getting it on your gums and lips and it didn't bother me at all . But I can't say for someone else that might be sensitive to it. Price is right all you can do is give it a try. I don't use it every day but when I do I can tell a difference.
