Join Tintin and Snowy—the world's greatest adventurers—as they solve thrilling mysteries around the world! The classic graphic novel. When Tintin and Captain Haddock happen across a community of gypsies they invite them home . . . just as Bianca Castafiore, the famous opera singer, decides to visit Tintin. It's chaos at Marlinspike Hall, and then a precious emerald goes missing! Review: Tintin in a wonderfully slow-paced mystery. - One of the best "late" works by Hergé. It's different from the usual action packed Tintin albums. The mystery in this case does not revolve around an international ploy or coup d'etat. Tintin stays - and this is unusual - in Moulinsart, in Haddock's estate, and the solition is almost too simple. It sets the continuum, the long prelude to "Tintin and the Picaros. Review: Beautiful print job - I have both this one and the original. This print job is much much better than the old Belgian job, on quality paper with a sheen and bright colors. Beautiful.

captain haddock is the best character
This is the perhaps funniest book of them all, of course, centered around Captian Haddock. The captain is leading a peaceful life when he realizes that Bianca Castiforie is coming to Marlinspike hall. There is a mystery too as the diva's jewels keep disappearing. But by far the funniest moments are between Captain Haddock and a talking parrot. By Rose Burns

A personal favorite
Unlike many of tintin adventures very little of consequence appears to happen in this story. However a fan of the characters will find all of their favorites simply enjoying their existence at marlinspike hall. When the milanese nightingale arrives for a visit it turns into an all out histarical romp. Peak herge humor and a joy to read

Perfect
Not as exciting as the others, but what it lacks in action, it makes up for in comedy. Wasn't disappointed with this one in the least. It was fun to see what every day life may have been for Tintin and his friends outside of globetrotting escapades. The book arrived quickly and was packaged safely. It arrived unharmed and in mint condition. Overall, a satisfying purchase. I plan on buying more like it from the seller.

TinTin is my first hero!
Building up my library of TinTin books. Had them all as a kid and lost several. Great graphic stories.

One of the best most peaceful heartwarming Tintin adventures (but this is not the 70s edition)
As noted in my other Tintin reviews sadly the new post-2002 editions have all replaced the classic comic Hyslop fonts. The current font is a bland regular italics font and this maybe a huge setback for lovers of the original Tintin editions (from the 60s and 70s). Otherwise this is yet another jewel in the glittering Tintin classics canon, and unique in that there are no villains and no action or violence in this story. It is fully set in Marlinspike Hall start to finish and is an absolutely delightful peaceful tale, and as usual in all Tintin stories, with hugely funny set pieces as well. A huge bow to Herge for such an unforgettable creation that has become one of the Crown Jewels of comic fiction and will forever delight book lovers and children of of all ages!
