Time Magazine described Jesse Livermore as the most fabulous living U.S. stock trader. His progress from office boy to Wall Street legend - his trading lessons - his triumphs and disasters - is probably the most fascinating of any of Wall Street's stories. Even today, many stock and commodity traders owe Jesse Livermore a deep debt of gratitude for sharing his experiences in this book. The techniques he made public have endured through many decades right up to today; his trading rules earned him millions of dollars, provided he stayed faithful to them. Livermore also lost his entire fortune on more than one occasion, when he ignored his own trading rules. Jesse Livermore was a self-made man trading with his own money - not other people's money, like modern investment banks and hedge funds. Depending how you measure it, his fortune peaked between 1.1 and 14.0 billion dollars in today's money. Review: Inexpensive easy access to Livermore's wisdom, in his own words - It is nice to see Livermore's insights re-printed in this short, inexpensive book that he wrote long ago. Anyone interested in learning how Jesse Livermore traded and made several fortunes can find it here without having to read the longer LeFerve's classic book on him. The only disappointment for me is that the book does not include Jesse's stock matrix showing how he applied the rules presented to a few stocks. To get this, one has to buy one of the previous editions of this book. I never understood the matrix anyway, and it is not needed with today's automatic charting programs that did not exist in the 1940's. I intend to add this book to the required reading list for my undergraduate honors course on technical analysis. Review: A big fan of his - This guy's writings have helped me more than that of any other trader or author. His straight-up, straight-forward approach puts you on the path you need to be if you're going to even get into the neighborhood of success in the market....GREAT stuff

Short and simple.
The book is 78 pages. I finished reading it in 3 hours and I'm no speed reader, if that gives you an impression of the content... I still found the book interesting and it has left a memorable impact on me, worth the money in my opinion. Sorry I didn't give it 5 stars Jesse, should have put some more anecdotes and analogys to make it longer. R.I.P.

Disappointing and poorly edited
While this book contains some good general guidance from the world's greatest stock trader, overall it is quite lacking. One reviewer pointed out that the book is missing pages 79-111. That makes sense because the book ends abruptly on page 78 after a confusing description of how to find pivot points. There are typos that obscure meaning. The language is awkward at times. Some of the stories are hard to absorb on the first reading. There are wonderful books about Jesse Livermore, including Richard Smitten's biography and Edwin Lefre's fictional version. Those books are far more instructive--and far more readable-- than this sorry text written by Jesse himself. Jesse was an amazing trader, but he is a poor writer. One anecdote in the book describes Jesse trying to get a friend to invest in a business venture. The friend replies, "Livermore, you will never make a success in any business outside of your own...please speculate and stay away from business." The writing in this book proves the friend to be correct. Please read one of the great biographies of Jesse and skip this book.

Pdf-Text Scan Errors
Multiple printing errors by the publisher. He likely used a pdf-text program on a non-Copyright version and posted this print-on-demand book for a quick buck. Also, although illustrative figures are called for in the text, they did not include them

Misleading and disappointing - abridged version!!!
This book is advertised as "Jesse Livermore's How-to Trade in Stocks" by Jesse Livermore and does not mention anywhere that it is an abridged version. This is a text only version of 77 pages - I believe it is missing up to 150 pages of charts relating to Jesse Livermore's strategies - the full version has 225 pages. The full version is called "How to Trade in Stocks" by Jesse Livermore. You are not buying the full book if you buy this advertised version - misleading advertising...!!!

Consider this a summary of the original.
Has the main points, but missing other information. Kind of low effort - there are several mistakes in the printing as if someone copied, pasted, and printed it without reviewing or reading it themselves.
