Good value, a lot of features
I bought this as a replacement for a recently purchased (and returned) Oregon Scientific RGR126N rain gauge. The O/S unit had a very inaccurate thermometer and the manufacturer did not respond to my inquiries about it. Back it went to Amazon. This unit is the same price and it works. It also remembers the time and all it's settings when you change the batteries. The temperature can be calibrated so it matches reality, unlike the Oregon Scientific RGR126N. It also measures indoor and outdoor humidity which the O/S unit does not. The memory for cumulative rain, daily rain, weekly rain etc. are great. There's even an alarm to let you know when rain starts so you can close your windows or whatever else you need to do to prepare for rain.I did have a reason to contact their tech support by phone and their US based people answered the phone promptly and quickly gave me the answer I needed. This unit is a great value by itself and both the product and the company are heads above Oregon Scientific

A do nothing setup. incredible
Easy assembly and setup. Don't have to do anything as it locates all devices automatically. Definitely recommend theAcuRite 01089M Rain Gauge with Thermometer & Humidity . I have placed the sensor in our tree which is over 200 feet away in the front of our house. The device in our house is in the kitchen at the very back oh house. works great. Don't purchase the La Crosse Technology 724-2310-INT Wireless Digital Rain Station with Temperature. You have to do to much to get it to work the one I purchased didn't work at all. It was returned. I was told it was mass produced and it happens.

Most useful functionality for a bargain price.
My main motivation was the rain gauge and when finding this device that also had internal/external temperature and humidity for a fairly low price I thought I found my match. It didn’t matter too much that the display is a rather old-fashioned mono-chrome LCD without backlighting. Smartphone connectivity would have been a nice feature, but once again not mandatory for my use either.I’ve had the device for a month now and overall very happy with it. Currently sitting thru (now depression) Florence, the rain gauge got a decent workout and compares fairly well with the conventional glass tube meter I have set up nearby. In fact, even without calibration the first decimal place of the digital readout correlates fairly well with the glass tube.Setting up the three components is easy enough. Just add batteries, as long as you remembered to get some AA and AAA since the devices do not come with any. While the pairing is hard coded via dip switch and does not require any further settings other than making sure that the rain gauge and the receiver are set to the same letter. However, if you replace batteries in the rain gauge you automatically reconnect albeit with a high value (in my case 99.4 inches of rain) which would be reset the next day, if it wasn’t to remain in the historic data and render any past values useless. Removing the batteries from the receiver fixes the issue but also resets historical values.I have the display unit set up about 10 ft (3m) from the outside temperature/humidity sensor and about 13 ft (4m) from the rain gauge. Both signals have to travel thru an outer side wall (Masonite panels) and the rain gauge also travels thru the ceiling to the balcony above. Signal strength is typically between 3 and 4 bars (out of a max of 4).Overall accuracy seems reasonable for home applications and generally the parts I can verify are fairly good. The clock does not sync with an atomic clock nor the internet. Fans of metric or 24hr formats are not heard by the device as you cannot change the format of time, temperature or length. Not a big deal, but doesn’t feel timely either.

Very accurate when calibrated correctly
Very accurate rain gauge when compared to a manual glass tube typemeasuring device. I did have to calibrate my gauge when I got it. It was off by about 10% out of the box, but the calibration steps are included in the instructions.

Will not honor warranty
I purchased this Acurite Rain gauge with thermometer and humidity, around August of 2020. It worked for a while and then started to give incorrect readings and I replaced all of the batteries. Seemed to work Okay; however, early December it stopped working, again. Decided to contact their Customer Service, started a long chain of e-mails with information what to do to "check it out". None of this by phone, by the way and a lot of time between e-mails.. Of course, what you all have experienced lately, blame the virus, blame the holidays, blame vacations or whatever else they could come up with. But, more e-mails now asking me to get new batteries (an imposition since I now had to go out and spend more money), send pictures of the 3 items and send them. Unfortunately, I'm not technically nor physically capable of going through any of their suggestions, which to me were more impositions. I don't do pictures and I have other things to do, such as care for a physically challenged wife. It's the worst experience I've encountered in a long, long time.My advice to anyone, buying anything from this company would be to find another provider. The item is junk and not worth the price. I'll move on to something else and chalk it up to bad choices on my end, and accept the loss of the purchase price. I believe that their procedure is arrogant and designed to wear out a dissatisfied customer. They want you to do all of the work for them. And, by the way, they told me that they don't repair, so they won't take it back, in any event. Thanks for reading and save your money!

Outside temp is not reliable
The rain meter works fine, as does the indoor temperature, but the outdoor temperature is always way off, sometimes up to 15 degrees. I have the sensor hanging five feet off the ground in constant shade area under an awning that has good air flow. I tested with other thermometer set right next to the sensor, and it is way off. I tried calibration per the instructions, and it started reading too low. It's just not accurate at all. Wouldn't recommend this if you need that outside temp reading, and honestly you could by the next model down from the same company for significantly less and just put an old school thermometer on the wall. Pretty disappointed.

Excellent Rain Gauge with Thermometer & Humidity
Excellent Item!!! The AcuRite 01089M Rain Gauge with Thermometer & Humidity is a must have item. Nice, easy to follow instructions, as well as easy setup. Accurate indoor/ outdoor Temp and Humidity -and- always showing outdoor Dew Point. Dew Point, more than anything else will tell you how comfortable or miserable it feels outside. The rain gauge is very easy to setup and and keeps track of daily, monthly and yearly rainfall. This is a very nice system and I highly recommend it.

Excellent Customer Service!
I am not a big review writer, but when something goes well, I don't mind letting everyone know. I purchased this gauge in May of 2020. It worked beautifully for 11 months, at which point the base unit was no longer receiving data from the rain collector. An email to Acurite Customer Service got a quick response. They gave me some troubleshooting tips to try, along with the statement that if the steps fail, to let them know and a replacement would be sent. When I couldn't get the original unit to work, I replied to their email and a new rain collector/transmitter was shipped immediately. I received it in two days. Problem solved, and thanks to Acurite for the prompt warrantee service!

Surprising Accuracy For The Price Point
Ran a calibration test on the rain gauge out of the box and it was off by only 0.1%. Indoors and outdoor temperature and humidity match perfectly at room temperature and humidity. Happy with it so far.

Don't buy unless you own a battery factory!
Nice display. Useful information. Setup easy. Waste of money.First set of Duracell batteries in rain gauge unit lasted 3 days.Changed batteries in all units to Lithium as recommended. Base station unit completely flattened these batteries in 12 days. All data is lost when you change batteries. Cost per year for main unit batteries would be around £175, then you would need batteries for other units, and would only ever have records of the previous 11-12 days. Trying with second set of Lithium batteries.
