Using it well
Been using it for a while. Its great and still in awesome condition

Got tired of needing a third hand..
After several years of filling and tamping my espresso basket cupped in one hand while holding the grinder in the other and using a finger awkwardly to scoop grounds coffee from grinder to the basket over the sink to catch the spillage, all half asleep before my morning coffee(!), I said there's got to be a better way. There was.. this on the edge of the counter, the basket in one holder, the tamper in the other, a funnel and a brush. Much more civilized, much less spillage, easy clean up confined to the pad. Easy-peasy.

Works well enough but maybe doesn’t fit in
For preparing a shot, this thing is nice to use. My only problem with it, and it’s not so much a product issue maybe, is that when it’s just out on my counter, it just seems outta place. Even though I have several coffee devices, my kitchen isn’t a cafe and it just looks weird sitting there I’m keeping it, but I don’t leave it out when not in use

Another Countertop Saved
...from scratches and dings left by an overenthusiastic and well-meaning amateur barista. Yourself. I had imagined this little rubber gadget to be nice (yawn) and professional looking, but of little real consequence in a home kitchen setting. Wrong. I think in addition to the padding aspect, which it does well enough, there's also now a focal point next to the trusty Isomac, where I can more consistently/predictably go through all those little steps---that sequence of fussy yet fun variables that so enchant the coffee aficionado. If this is you, I highly recommend this item. Else maybe just continue to peruse Amazon's selection of barista temptations: you'll find something.

It’s a tamper mat
It’s about as useful as any other tamper mat, but doesn’t quite work for everyone porta filter. Definitely suggest a tamper box set up instead.
