Works great in a rented space
I did a lot of research on water filters after moving to northern Ohio from the Pacific Northwest. Per EWG's website there are 22 contaminants in water where I moved to and only 1 in water where I moved from. The tap water in Ohio smells, tastes and feels awful on the skin, but renting doesn't allow for any whole home resolutions. EWG suggested the Epic Pure water filter dispensers as one of the brands capable of removing a lot of these contaminants and it doesn't dissapoint. There is no smell, it tastes clean and I'm not having to buy a bunch of bottled water. It takes about 20-30 minutes for the water to filter through. I keep this on my countertop b/c there isn't enough room in the fridge, so I do have to clean it more often than if it was kept in the fridge. The lid especially can get mildewy fast in the humid weather. Replacing the filter is very easy and quick and a filter lasts me 8 months for the 150 gallons the replacement filters last. I used this water for cooking, rinsing produce and drinking. Note: the Pure XP filter was not introduced yet when I bought this so this is the original filter type that Epic carries.

Review after 2 years of filtered water
I see a lot of comments about this product leaking...? I have been using this Epic Water filter for over 2 years. I have noticed in the last 3 or 4 months, I will get a slow drip after taking apart and washing it. All I have to do is take it all the way off and re-tighten it and 0 drip. It seems to be user error, and not the product. There are comments about being careful not to drop it due to durability and to use caution when washing it... I don't see why it would be dropped, but i have 0 cracks in it after 2 years. The lid and tank have held up just fine. The tank is actually a really thick plastic. There is also have a 3 year protection plan that would be a great option. As far as purity, I haven't tested it. But someone said the water tastes like "dirt"... This is literally the crispness tasting water I have ever had. We have purchased 8 filters and continue to get great water from this purifier and we love it.We tried one of the generic filters that are compatible with this... Just don't do it. Noticeable difference in taste. I'm not even sure the generic filter did anything.I see some people say the filter is overpriced, but 3 months of water bottles would cost us over $200. A $50 filter replacement is definitely not expensive. We broke the tab off last night and can't dispense water right now, so I am about to purchase this same filter again. But it took over 2 years before that happened. Purchasing the protection plan this time just in case... it's good for 3 years. This purifier is more than worth the money.

Good water filter system.
Makes good water from Hard City water that starts with a high chlorine content. Test strips shows the chlorine and other contaminates removed. There was a problem with the lid of the unit I got. Their customer service replaced it right away and I have no further issues. Some wrote of leaking issues with the spicket, but I followed the directions and had no issues.I've only had it about a month so not sure how long the filter will last yet.

Not impressed! Save your money and go with a different, better brand.
I have been buying Panna water bottles and Fiji waters bottles for some time now and recently decided I wanted to save more money and help the planet out more. So I decided to give this Epic Pure countertop water filter a try. I cleaned the tank out and ran through an entire tank of water (as per instructions) before tasting it. I didn't love the flavor very much but I wanted to make it work. I set a glass of water by my bed at night and then drink the water first thing when I get up in the morning. When I tasted the Epic Pure water in the morning it was so disgusting...tasted just like dirt.So I decided to buy a water quality tester on Amazon to check the water. Each time I tested the Epic Pure water out it tested the same as the tap water! I also tested my Panna and Fiji water bottle waters too (to make sure the water tester worked properly) and the numbers were vastly different than the Epic Pure numbers. As you can see in my photos, the Epic Pure water filter filtered out diddly-squat!If you look at the reviews on the Epic Pure water pitchers on Amazon you can see where other people checked the Epic Pure water with a tester and had the same crummy results. For comparison, I also tested my cheap Frigidaire fridge filtered water from the fridge door and it tests so much better and tastes so much better!I really wanted this water filter tank to work out! Sadly, it's going back.

Excellent water filter - water tastes great.
I did quite a bit of research before purchasing this Epic Pure water filter/dispenser. We've only had it for a short time but so far are really impressed. It's well designed, and is a nice size and very easy to use. So for there have been no issues at all with leaking around the spigot as others have reported (I just followed the instructions to tighten it until snug; then snug a bit more). The main reason for choosing this particular filter is that is supposed to be very effective at reducing both chlorine & chloramines. Our City of Portland tap water is actually quite good but they do use both chlorine & chloramines as disinfectants. Filtering both of these out makes the water taste better and may also have health benefits. In my research I discovered that most water filters (e.g., Brita, etc.) are pretty good at reducing chlorine but it's a bit of a challenge to find one that is effective in reducing chloramines by an appreciable amount. Anyway, I may update this review in the future if anything changes but for now I'd give the Epic Pure filter a rating of "Highly Recommended".

Filter cannot handle NYC water.
The dispenser is easy to assemble and use. The filtered water tastes amazing! However the filter stopped working after 10 days. It is listed as lasting 60-90 days. Customer support was nice and gave suggested soaking the filter in cold water over night. That helped a little. However the output was at most a quart per day. I live in a pre war building in NYC and have visible rust/iron in my water (the water leaves a light orange residue when it dries). I cannot afford to keep this filter system and will be returning.

This might be a water filter for you if
The water filter is good for the price this is listed at. The only downside is that I cannot store this in my fridge due to the cold causing it leak.

FINALLY: WATER THAT TASTES GOOD
This unit is easy to use and the extra filter deal for $10. was much appreciated. Finally my water tastes good, even if President Trump is going take fluoride out of the public water on January 20th, I am glad this filter can also take it and so many chemicals out of my water. My friends have noticed the difference in the taste. The only thing Epic forgot to do is put in the instruction book that you need to keep the filter saturated and the water level up to the bottom of the upper chamber. But now I know.

Beautiful water
Edit after 6+ months:Unfortunately the water filter is way too slow. This is a good thing filtration wise, but a terrible thing for anyone wanting to drink water. It simply can't keep up with the rate that we drink water in the summer. We bought the filter to help us drink more water, but think we're actually drinking less now, due to the amount of time it takes the water to drip through the filter. Based on this alone, we are unfortunately now shopping for a different filter that has quicker filtration (even if that technically means it's not as good!)____________________Crazy how nice this water is. It's only been a few days but I'm here to rave. Our water is very hard and chemically - the Epic Water filter turns this into the most beautiful (no other word for it really) drinking water. I look forward to every next glass. It's made water morish. Who'd have thought? I was previously a chronic squash drinker due to the horrible taste and texture of the water, then even that stopped cutting it, so I moved onto bottled water. Unfortunately bottled water comes with a slight plasticky taste. The Epic Water just tastes lovely. No particular flavour, just clean, refreshing, silky water. I had to run 3 loads through the dispenser before the loose particles of the carbon filter stopped coming through, resulting in a perfectly clear and beautiful water. Really I don't know what other words to use to describe it. Before Epic, water was a chore, now it is life. I watched a YouTube video by Modern Castle whereby they tested ten of the leading filter brands, and Epic Water scored second place, in front of Brita, Amazon and Zero Water, to name a few. The first place was Waterdrop, but they don't remove fluoride, so in my opinion, Epic actually won. Check out the video if you're interested. No issues or leaks so far. Thoroughly recommend this water filter.

Tastes great
I don't usually do reviews but I'll say this. It works. The water tastes great. It filters quickly compared to other filter systems I tried. Fits on a fridge shelf conveniently so we have cold water on tap. A third party company did the testing on it. I feel better knowing that. I don't know how to measure fluoride levels so I'll have to accept that this filters out 97% of that stuff, like they claim. The family loves the water. It's a convenient system that works. We'll continue buying RO water but this is good to have in case we're not able to buy from the RO seller for some reason.

Great item but replacement filters are expensive
Product itself is good quality but replacement filters are way overpriced and difficult to find. But product itself is still 5 stars.
