Good Things to Drink with Mr Lyan and Friends

This is an awesome book- I got the chance to hear Ian Griffiths of White Lyan and Dandelyan come speak in Austin about Fords Gin and sustainability in their bars. Mr Lyan was there guest bar tending along side him and it was a pleasure to be apart of this event, put on by such talented people. So needless to say, I was stoked when this book was back in stock! I love the recipes (some simple , some requiring a little more time- all delicious) All the recipes can be easily replicated from the comfort of your home and are perfect for parties and events or just to have something nice to drink at home. I love all the pictures too - a really beautifully put together book.

I am a HUGE Ryan Cheti fan! He's brilliant and I love both of his bars in London (Dandelyan and White Lyan). TOTC's crowned Best International Bartender of the Year 2015. I almost couldn't wait to get my hands on his book and it didn't disappoint; unique recipes and great visual cocktail eye candy throughout.

Interesting, but the inside print is too flat. Muted blacks and whites. The cover is gorgeous.

Excellent cocktail recipe book. My husband and I are super into hosting and making cocktails for our guests. We've had fantastic results with the recipes in this book.

This book is beautifully written and easy to follow and understand. A must for anyone who likes to entertain in their home!

Every home should have a copy.

I am very happy to have this book in my collection. In addition to the unique design and beautiful photography, it is full of very unique recipes that benefit from a focus on incorporating local and seasonal ingredients (from one of the world's best bartenders, no less). I give it three stars because it's one of the least approachable cocktail books for amateurs (which is an issue given that the focus is supposed to be on drinks you can make at home with friends). Most of the recipes in the book will require you to make a run to the grocery store to grab something you don't have on hand (if you can find it). This is not necessarily a bad thing (it's awesome to have books that seek to elevate cocktails beyond spirits and citrus). Just be aware that this book is probably better suited for a professional bartender or very serious home mixologist, not someone who is just getting into cocktails as a hobby.

Could use more basic, few/attainable ingredient recipes. But great for anyone willing to hunt down ingredients.

Non mi potevo aspettare di meglio dall autore anche perché, x chi non lo sapesse, è Ryan chetiyawardana il manager del dandelian bar di londra(world best cocktail bar 2018).Ho già detto tutto. Il libro è in inglese e non esistono ad oggi traduzioni in italiano. È un insieme di ricette di cocktail. È abbastanza tecnico e per esperti del settore. Richiede buone conoscenze delle tecniche di preparazione di infusioni e sciroppi(le ricette x la preparazione comunque sono presenti). Se comunque non si ha un buon livello per quanto riguarda la conoscenza delle tecniche di miscelazione, dei distillati ecc rischiate solo di provare a ricreare preparazioni senza capire il senso di quello che si sta facendo. Interessante come le ricette virino verso la semplicità delle preparazioni mai banali, e finalmente si ritorna alle origini stufi ormai di tutti quei barman che fanno ricette alchemiche complicatissime che lasciano il tempo che trovano.

Superbe livre sur les cocktails. Non seulement il donne des recettes mais il explique clairement quelques techniques de base. Pour armateurs.

A beautiful book that is a must for beginners at cocktail making and seasoned drinkers alike. The recipes within are delicious and yet still relatively simple, and the colours and photographs make for a stunning read. There are a large number of recipes containing gin, which makes this an ideal present for a gin lover, but most other spirits are covered too. The book itself makes for a perfect coffee table feature, and visitors to our home love to pick it up and have a flick through. I am a firm believer that price is not something you should factor into a review, but it is worth noting that this is reasonably expensive - worth every penny nonetheless. Very highly recommended.
