Surprised it arrived RAZOR-sharp (unlike the false-edge on their other LOTR swords). Absolutely beautiful, top-of-the-line quality. This sword not only looks good, but I would say it is actually functional. Sharp, tempered 420 J2 stainless steel blade, deep fuller, genuine leather wrapped hilt, feels good and light as a feather in the hand, can move lightning-quick. Will look great on the wall--but it could also save your butt! Leaf-blade design is for stabbing. My only gripe is that the tip is quite thin. From a funtional standpoint, a little thicker would have been better, but, hey, it's not being sold as an actual weapon of combat. Personally, this looks more like the "Sting" I imagined when I read The Hobbit, than the film version does. The online stock photo doesn't do it justice AT ALL, which is probably why it is still in stock as of now. Get one before they're gone!

The sword is a beautiful replica of Sam's sword in the LOTR movies. I only wish it came with a sheath as well.

Who is a collector. He has several LOTR swords, but we lost both parents last year, and it's been tough. He's my steady strong tree now ( twice my size) and has helped anytime I need him . This is a simple but beautiful short hobbit sword, which I bought for him mainly to represents Sam wise Gamer's finest moment " I may not be able to carry The Ring Mr. Frodo, but I can carry you!" He was very pleased liked the weight and sharpness.. Recommend.

Had to order a replacement because the handle feels lose. Beautiful and very sharp. But handle issue makes it a 3 star. Hopefully the replacement is better or I'll just get a refund.

There's not much to dislike. The dimensions are accurate to the filming prop... if it had been clean and new. The blade comes SHARP which.. runs contrary to most of the other UC products in the LOTR line but makes sense for a sword and I kind of wish they were all like this. That said, I DO wish that the blade had come aged/distressed as it was in the film. I can add that on my own but it would be nice of I didn't HAVE to. Also, I'd like if the other "barrow blades" AND THEIR SCABBARDS were available. Which brings up another mild issue... especially when you have a blade this sharp, you NEED a scabbard. Yet, UC hasn't manufactured one for this. I can make one for myself and have references of the film used piece but an official piece would be nice.

A beautiful and accurate replica of the sword of Samwise Gamgee. The leather hilt is superbly wrapped and the sword overall is one of my favorite designs from the films. Since Sam is my favorite character from LOTR, I had to add it to the collection! It also pairs very nicely with the United Cutlery Sting sword.
