is this dart board appropriate for a 14 year old? the reviews (etc.) keep talking about younger kids.

Bought it for my 14 year old daughter. It's a great gift but the board scuffs easily.

Waterprood if left outside?

I would say no because the actual board is not waterproof. We only had it a couple of days before the darts stopped sticking to the board. It was useless after a couple of days. We never took it outdoors.

Are there any recent reviews for the dart board game? What are the dimensions?

Yes there are recent reviews. If you go to reviews, than you click on "most recent" you'll see all. The dimensions are: 14.5 x 14.5 x 0.91 inches.
