Just use as directed and if your pond isnt easy to calculate be slightly conservative.

Product is good and seems to work well for my needs with the pond. Unfortunately the packaging needs a little improvement as shipping this package caused it to break open inside the outer box and make a bit of a mess. I also lost some of the product as the outer box is not completely sealed and some of the salt spilled out of the outer box before it reached my home.

Had some fish with parasitic injuries showing up. I was nervous as our pond friends are over 10 years old and are very friendly so we're quite attached to them. I added about half the recommended amout of this salt. We kept a close eye on everybody and noticed all was well after 3 hours so I added the rest of the dose. What a happy bunch! They seemed to get silly and extra playful. I can only attribute their behaviour to improved gill function. After about 2 weeks we had an issue with algae and had to move everybody out for a water change and clean out so upon visual inspection early scale 'pineconing' from parasitic invasion on one fishs' side was nearly gone. Upon refill I added the recommended dose with no hesitation. I also bought a water meter to measure the salt in our ponds. All these years as pond keepers and I didn't know this can improve their quality of life.

Had a bacterial infection occur with the koi pond, losing 3 fish in two days. Applied per dosage directions, and the remaining fishes heath improved by later that day. They resumed eating and where no longer lethargic, or hiding near the bottom of the pond. Highly recommended and best to keep on hand to forgo any serious health issues in your ecosystem. Switching to another brand API, as I'm not happy with a $5.00 increase

I was having a lot of trouble keeping my koi alive. Then I added this and I haven’t lost a fish since. I use it regularly.

I am docking a few stars not because this didn’t work but because I received a 10 pound bucket that had been shipped on its side with no protection and the lid came open. My postal carrier handed it to me with salt spilling out from the bottom crack of the box. I only received less than half of the 10 pound bucket. I have ordered this brand before and the same thing the bucket top cans off in shipping, but the company was prompt at sending another. This time I wrote the company anc they wanted pictures of my less than half full bucket but there was no way of sending pictures through the email from the company so they did nothing to satisfy my order. Also the salt granules were very small this time the other times I have ordered they have been about a 1/2 in or so. This time they were all less than 1/8. Maybe it’s because the bigger pieces fell out in shipping. ?? Anyway if I’m not going to get satisfied for spending money at a company that makes you feel as if you are lying and that doesn’t stand by keeping their customers happy then I’ll go back to using my old product from API there lids screw on their jars and are cheaper but work just as good. I was buying because the company stood by its product but maybe things have changed and I liked the fact of the bigger pieces of salt. But those were also smaller. Almost like they have Changed ownership or something.
