These cars change colours only 1 time?

They come in like a chalky coating, which you remove by dipping in water, to reveal the car underneath - so this part you can obviously only do once. Beyond that the colour of the actual car changes every time you put it in either hot or cold water.

Once opened, can you use the plastic barrel (with lid handle held securely), as a 'carry case' for a few cars?

It would fit max 3 cars I think but the lid would likely pop off during transit

How do i ensure i get different cars every time i buy new? can we specify if we want the green orange or red range?

Perfect with car wash hot wheels set

These were a Christmas gift, they worked fantastic with my little ones hot wheels shark car wash, it did take a few dunks under water to get the blue colour off but he really enjoyed it and was excited to see the colour change. They are a great addition to any hot wheels set.

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before buying!

These cars are brilliant & my little boy loves them! Ignore some of the negative reviews, these people clearly haven't read the instructions or even looked at the packaging?! They come with a rough coat of paint which you rinse off to see the actual car. Then after that paint coat has been washed off, the colours keep changing when you dunk them in cold or warm water. Complaints of sharp edges or the wheels not spinning are from people who haven't washed off the top coat! They will give hours of fun for any kid who loves Hot wheels and make a fantastic gift.

Great fun toy that works

Just given these fun cars to grandsons and they are great. When moved from iced water to bath temperature the change is instant. Boys enjoyed dipping just part of the car in the water to get special colour effects.

Very fun for baths. You'll understand the price point when it arrives. Packaging took 70% of the budget, but they basically assured that you get everything mint. BEWARE: the blue paint on a car (that goes away after the first rinse before use) should be handled carefully. It stains everything.
