Are the stems clear like in the picture or white?

Apologies for the long delay. You likely do not need this answer but it may help others.Answer: The are white. However, the slide into the ear plug so you only see the top nub. The rest is covered by the translucent material that is recessed into the ear plug. The form factor in my opinion is pretty sleek and looks more or less like a small ball of cotton stuffed deep. If you want something more subtle you would want to go with skin colored ones. This is obviously not this.This is how the ear plug looks in a cross-section. Are these good to wear under a helmet for motorcycle riding?

I have both, the long and short versions of these, and even with the long ones, they are still much shorter than the Hearos brand and they don't stick out of my small ears. If you're still concerned about them fitting underneath your helmet, I'd go with the short stem version. On another note, since they're hi-fis, you'll still be able to hear your surroundings.
