Great Product! Easy Install! Works Great!
UPDATE TO REVIEW: After using this product for a couple of days, I found that my vehicle had difficulties with this OBD device, where the vehicle wouldn't start on the first key turn. I would have to turn off the ignition, try it again and usually repeat this process 3 or 4 times until the car would finally start. I called MotoSafety and they indicated that they have seen this on occasion and that there is no way to resolve the issue. Needless to say, I cannot use this device in this car if starting the car is compromised or delayed. Therefore, while I think the product is a great product, and the customer support is acceptable, I had to return this product. I may try the MasTrack product again (had problems with that device as well), but their customer support group had reached out to me and indicated that they might be able to modify the software on their side to allow compatibility between the OBD port and the device. ORIGINAL REVIEW I purchased this MotoSafety GPS tracker after a previous purchase of a competing product failed to work (see my other reviews for details). Unlike the big fail of the other device, the MotoSafety product was not only easy to install, but registration of the device was a snap! And, guess what? It worked right from the get-go. Keep in mind that all of the real time GPS trackers require a supplemental service, which allows for real time vehicle tracking. The service with MotoSafety is $19,95/month, with a recurring charge to your credit card. This seems pretty typical and fair, as far as service cost. (On a side-note, when you visit the website that they have listed in the packing documentation for activating your device, be sure to preface the website with the secure HTTPS:// notation. If you simply go to the website listed in the documentation, you will not be automatically directed to the secure checkout website for the recurring service credit card information, which could be a security issue as you enter your credit card into their site). Now, back to the review of the product...As mentioned, the device installed very easily. I used a ribbon cable, also purchased here on Amazon, which allowed me to hide the tracker above the dash for aesthetic reasons. So, I got it installed and secured and took the car for a drive. (Be sure to load the MotoSafety app to your smartphone). The device immediately started reporting the vehicle position, as confirmed on my smartphone. When I got back home, I logged into the MotoSafety website (using the login credentials you provided at registration) and was able to view my trip history in a very nice mapping display. In addition, I like the fact it provides a "report card" of the driving habits during the trip. Heavy braking, acceleration etc. It also indicates top speed during each trip. All and all, a very nice product. Easy install. And, most importantly, works as designed. Highly recommended!

Tracking device does not work with W211 model Mercedes Benz (2002-2009 models)
This is more of a public notification rather than a personal review. The software and system itself I am sure works very well and when we first got the device set up we were very pleased with it. We purchased this device for our daughter to put into her car so we could track her for safety, receive a discount on our car insurance, and to ensure that she was properly servicing the vehicle as she was supposed to do. Her car is a 2007 Mercedes Benz E500. When we first connected the device it did not track. We went through the process to contact customer support. It took a couple of days to get a customer support agent on chat but they were able to resolve the issue within 30 min by sending a reset to the device. From there it tracked the car fine, with the sole exception of the fuel which it couldn't pick up from the OBD port. However, 2 1/2 weeks later while I was with my daughter in the car, thankfully, the car started going haywire. The cooling fan went to full speed, even though the car wasn't overheating, the headlights and taillights came on and wouldn't shut off, the transmission wouldn't lock out and was staying in gear, the SRS system, EPS system and brakes all threw failure alerts and the infotainment system stopped functioning. We had the car towed to a Mercedes service center and they quickly diagnosed the issue as being the tracker sending signals to the cars ECM. The technician even brought me in and showed me this by connecting the tracker which caused the car to immediately flip out then unplug it and the issues immediately stopped. However, due to the signals the tracker had sent to the ECM, the dealership had to reset the module and the infotainment system to get them to clear the errors and to function again. That cost $275.00 plus the tow bill. We contacted customer support and like before it took a few days to get them to respond. After we did, they said it could be fixed by having a reset sent to the tracker. They asked us to plug it back into the car but not to turn the car on. We did so and immediately it began sending signals to the car and the exact same issues started happening without the keys in the ignition. They went through 4 attempts to reset the system and each time the issues would stop during the devices reboot then they would come back on with additional problems. Some issues that surfaced during their testing of the device included the car attempting to start without the key in the ignition, the hazard lights coming on, the interior lights flashing, the dashboard display coming on and misreading temperature and fuel levels as well as the cars self leveling system freaking out and the air compressor pumping the shocks to the max. After 25 minutes of this going on and the support team just telling me that it would take a little longer since the device kept reverting back to its prior update, I finally disconnected the device before more damage was done to the car. I had the subscription cancelled and we are returning the device. Additionally, the car is once again back at the dealership to have the signals erased on the ECM to clear the error messages that the device caused. Although this device may work well with some cars, at least with the heavily tech based Mercedes I would not apply this device to the car as it is not a compatible device. MotoSafety support concluded this and suggested we rather purchase the hard wired version for the car but we refused to consider that option. Personally speaking, I am leery on a device that has that kind of power to affect so many critical items. The purpose of the tracker in the car is to keep my child safe. If the device has the capacity to disable the braking system, restraint system, shut down the transmission, and potentially cause ignition failure among other things, then it does the exact opposite of what we wanted it to do and puts a novice driver at a much higher risk of having a serious accident. Again, the device may work well with other car models and some users may never experience what we did and I truly hope that is the case. We will continue to look for a viable tracking system for her car to keep her safe behind the wheel but it unfortunately won't be this device.

Elderly driver monitoring
My 90 year old mother-in-law still drives. Yikes! She does not use a smart phone, so I needed a way to monitor and track her driving. After researching extensively, I chose the MotoSafety OBD Tracker. Although the device is used primarily for fleet usage and teenage driver applications, it seemed like the device could serve the purpose of monitoring an elderly driver and providing theft monitoring as well. I have been using the device for a month. Installation is purely simple. Just plug the device directly into the OBD (Onboard Diagnostic) port under the dash on the driver's side. As soon as the key is turned on, the unit powers up and begins its search for a GPS signal. There are apps available for both Apple and Android devices, as well as a direct link website for other type browser use. The sign up is easily accomplished with an email address. The actual setup is best done through the website rather than the app. Once the account is setup, the Tracker will show the current or last position of the tracker. It will record the actual track of the automobile that can be reviewed later. The track not only shows the routing taken, but will give stop points, how long the vehicle remained at a location, and the address of that location. Other useful features include geo-fencing, speed reporting, heavy braking/acceleration, time period usage and maintenance reporting. Since the Tracker specializes as a Teen Driving monitor, one can use geo-fencing to literally outline on a map an area that the car can be driven. The time period can be set to insure that a curfew is met. The heavy braking/acceleration can monitor not only good driving habits but can be used to alert for a sudden stop that might indicate an accident. The Tracker does not use air bag deployment but relies upon sophisticated algorithms to record acceleration/deceleration rates. Maintenance reporting shows current battery voltage, and fuel quantity on some newer vehicles. Apparently, engine trouble codes would be recorded, but I have not observed this feature. My primary concern was knowing when the car was being operated and the area where it is being used. The alert features helped to provide this info but required a work around. Normally, a parent would set up a time period that the car could be used and if the teenager was out after that time, an alert would be sent to the parents' phone, email, or both. Obviously, an elderly driver monitoring alert would require just the opposite information. On another review, I read that a daughter had set an authorized time period for her dad that she was sure he would not be driving, ie, 1am -3am. Any usage outside that time period would trigger an alert showing the car was being operated. The only small glitch is the actual alert shows as an Unauthorized Use alert when set up in this manner. If any other person is designated to receive alerts, they need to know how the alert works. Obviously, an alert showing usage outside a designated area would be highly valuable for a driver who becomes disoriented or confused while driving. A couple of other useful alerts are Idle and Tamper. A default time of 5 minutes of Idle time is initially set. If the car is On but idling for longer, an alert is sent. I find this feature to be especially helpful for an elderly driver in case of fatigue or incapacitation. The Tamper alert is triggered when the device is removed from the port. I have read that this alert can be triggered if the device is not securely positioned in the port. I have not had this issue. The purchase price through Agilis Systems was $24.99 through Amazon. A monthly monitoring fee through MotoSafety is $19.99. So far I am well pleased with the design, function, and usability of the device, the app, website, and customer support of Agilis. I highly recommend the device for anyone with teen or elderly drivers.

Fantastic Support Team & Product Works Very Well
This item works. Easy to install. Easy to set up the app and log in online. We had a compatibility issue with our car's computer and our battery was completely drained. We reached out to Support and they not only explained what was happening, but they also updated the firmware with a fix. Extremely happy with this seller and the Technical Support team. They reached out several times via phone and email to ensure that I was happy with my purchase. If you have to know where your car is and/or you have a teen driver this product can really give you piece of mind. You can get immediate alerts and you also get a report card at the frequency you choose. The alerts are customizable, which is great because there may be times you want a text for everything that happens and times were you can't be bothered with too many text or email messages. I know when my teen was speeding or had a hard break. The map is pretty accurate as it utilizes Google Maps technology, so I know if my kid is exactly where I expect them to be. I'd recommend this product. Note that there is a $19.99 monthly fee for this service, but it's worth it to have piece of mind. I think anyone else having issues with this product just didn't read that you have to pay for the service. I have had no issues calling Support, so as of this writing the Support Team is phenomenal at customer service and giving you options to solve you issues. If I can give this item a 5-star after our battery died, then it means they did their job assisting me afterward. If for some reason our battery dies again, then I'll come back and update my review!

Peace of Mind, monthly charge is too expensive.
I bought this for my sons car as he just started driving. It works pretty good. The GPS will drill down to a few feet from where the car is. Don’t get it confused with cellular tracking devices as these devices track to large area and cannot pinpoint like GPS. One of the things I did was setup four different perimeters or geo fences to places my son goes to. For example, I put a perimeter around my house. When he drives out of the driveway I get a text and notification from the app immediately and it hasn’t missed a beat. I added my wife’s phone so she gets them too. So, In case he decided to take a spin at 3 am we’ll know about it. Hasn’t happened yet 🙂. I also put one around our church as he goes there a lot to volunteer and visit friends. So, we know when he comes and goes, and when he arrives or leaves church. He also works at the mall, so I put a geo fence around the mall, which notifies us when he arrives and when he leaves. That notification is reassuring because we can rest assure he’s where he is suppose to be. If I get busy and don’t get the ding that he arrives his work, I’ll check to see why he’s not there yet. Usually, he stopped to get a soda or coffee ☕️ on his way. I like that it reports his speed, when he has hit the brakes really hard, which worries me, and shows how much gas he has. He told me that the engine light came on for an oil change but nothing shows in the app. Couple things I saw that I wasn’t sure about, my son was doing 70 mph in a 55 mile zone and it gave him an A + rating on one of his drives/trips. On my laptop I saw where I can go in and set the speed limits for various routes. I really don’t want to do that! I just don’t have that kind of time. Why can’t they link the system with Waze or Google Maps? Those apps know the speed limit pretty well. The other thing that I will say is I think the monthly cost is just too high. Basically $20 a month which is $240 a year. I’ll probably give this six months and cancel. If it was only $10 a month I’d probably keep it for several years. My main concern is to evaluate my son’s driving ability and responsibility level when dad and mom aren’t with him and nobody is watching. So far I found that he’s very honest when telling us he is going places. I also found that if he’s not careful he’ll lose his driving privileges for speeding.

Pretty costly but gets the job done
The device itself is more affordable than others upfront HOWEVER it hits you in the long run. $21 a month for the data plan totals up to nearly $250 per year. If I would have did the math and read the description a little bitter than i would have sought out other options. It does exactly what it says, data is pretty accurate, map updates were on point. Very easy to plug in. Loved being able to set up geofences and getting the text message alerts via the website. The website for me wasn’t very user friendly in regards to the display and could use some improvements there. I provided feedback regarding the site and thought it was cool that someone actually called me to talk about it.

Device will help my relationship
My girlfriend once ran out with another guy when I noticed her car was not at work. She took a day off to go out with this guy who she tried to get to know when they both work at the same place. Luckily God had my back when the company shut down that they don't work together. They took a day to go to the recreational park. I was hesterical and didn't know where they were. Luckily she came home around nine when I texted her. They went to the park and walk around . And I pushed her to tell me what they did. She said the guy kissed her and rubbing her. She met me afterward because I text her and it was a first day out, so she was into the guy but not as crazy. We sat in the car and talked to about 3 am in a morning. She was trying to run off with this guy again but somehow God helped me that her plan was not coming to fruition. I knew if I trust this girl she would sleep with this guy. It's just a matter of time. I stand up for myself and texted this guy telling him she belongs to me and to leave her alone. The guy didn't listen to me but over time he gets what I said. I draw the line very clear with both of them. She either leave me for him or otherwise. Clearly she didn't have sex with the guy so her mind was able to think clear and stayed with me. But if she did, I doubt she would run after him. Long story short , the pain taught me a lesson so I found this product online. It is a very reliable product that I was able to know where she is 24 hours a day. Of course I'm not so stupid to let this girl know that I put this device on her car. .. All oil change I take care for her so she doesn't take it to the mechanic .. Mechanic may tell her what it is. This product gives me a peace of mind so I can focus on my work not worry if she ran with guys again.. Men you got to be smart to protect your lady . Paying only less than 20 dollar a month. Worth it. I never leave any extra time for her to know other guy. It's a painful experience for us guy if we trust the lady. Please outsmart them. It tells you the statues of your battery which help if you park your car for too long.

Customer support sucks...product didn’t work.
Update 2: so we have had this for about a month I believe. And when I go to current location it shows where I am! Not where the car is! I have to go through all of his “trackers” to get a current location. When I go to filter for just today it still only shows me the last two weeks! NONE of the filters worked! Customer service couldn’t do anything. I’m keeping it because it semi works and my kid doesn’t know it’s in his car. But be advised it does not completely work like advertised!!!! Update: I was finally able to get in contact with someone with tech support and they did fix the issue And the device works great! My only complaint is it took almost a week for someone to call me. I had to continue to call and stay on hold for periods of times no less than 15 mins. But the lady that assisted was great. They just need to work on how fast the respond. I was really excited about this because of my teen doing dumb stuff. But it doesn’t work. It tracked my phone perfectly. But not the device. I emailed customer support no reply, I called and left a message no reply, called again and was on hold for 15 mins. I’m very upset about it. Everything I read said it was just plug in and go. Not the case for this one!!! And would be fine if customer support would even offer to help!!!

Be careful, the services of this product can be used only on monthly chargeble basis.
It's unfair that this product doesn't describe anywhere that you need to pay 20$ monthly to use it. If it was told, we would have been cautious about it.
