Super fun to do in your free time, I also love how you can read the short excerpts from the books the pages are pulled from. I also appreciate the prompts for the poems, it gives great ideas.

Content: This journal is fantastic! It has pages from The Greats with headlines for optional inspiration. All you need is this book and a merger and you're ready to begin your blackout adventure. I hope they make more of these! I use newspapers as well, but it's cool to have it all in one place, and not having to find a newspaper. Material: Unlike newspaper, the pages of this book are pretty thick so the ink does't bleed through. Overall: A must have for any poet, curious person, or bored 9-5 employee alike. There's currently volumes 1 & 2...hopefully they'll create more...

This is a good one for beginners (at least it was for me when I started). Just wish the ink wouldn’t bleed through as bad (even with a regular pen it would bleed through).

It's a really good book

Fifty pages of famous prose extracts provide a readily available visual inspirational 'found ' poetry prompt to liberate that creative muse that lies within each of us.In addition to the suggested 'blackout ' forms this useful book could be used as a valuable and very portable prompt for the 'remix' found form. For the really ambitious who wish to combine their found poetry into a haiga style art form I would suggest a look at Tom Phillips ,masterpiece of this art format 'A Humument' (book and website slides) .

Use this a basis for writer's block and as a teaching exercise for poets and non-poets alike.
