Why does the packaging on each individual pair of socks say “ pro mountain fake socks”? are these a blatant knock off?

"Fake" as in people can't see the socks when you are wearing shoes. Better translation might have been "invisible" - neither word is literally true. Both imply that the socks are short enough to be concealed inside your shoe.

I’m a 7.5/8 in sneakers, would you recommend the size S or M ?

At least a medium...they're small & not true to size.

Has anyone tried these w Skechers, the ones that look a little like sneakers but don't tie and don't come up quite as high, but higher than flats?

I'm currently wearing mine with Sketchers that look like athletic loafers, and they do show slightly above the shoe.

How raised is the toe seam? The seam usually drives me insane. Would it be possible to turn a sock inside out and take a picture of the toe area?
